I think its broken, I've had a few ankle injuries in my day not as bad as this. My worse injury came from a twisted ankle which nagged me for a while just the slightest contact would give me a sharp pain. I only recovered after the RICE treatment and two months rest. Sorry Spurs fans I think he could be out for the season :(. I offer bale a speedy recovery, I hate when top class players get injuries like this.

"It’s hopefully not as bad as it could have been. There is a big possibility he is going to be able to make it for the Man City game and he will only miss the next two games but assurances we can only give you tomorrow.”

Real injury, player lays still on the floor. Fake injury, player flails ridiculously. Hope its not too serious anyways.

Spurs have received a huge boost in their bid to land a coveted Champions League spot with the news that Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon will miss just two weeks of action after picking up what looked like serious injuries last night.

The midfield pair and defender William Gallas all had scans on knocks suffered during the 1-1 draw with FC Basle at White Hart Lane and there was heightened worry over Bale who has been Spurs' key player and top scorer this season.

Bale turned his ankle attempting a tackle in the dying stages of the match but the injury is nowhere near as bad as first thought.

All three players will miss the Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday and the return fixture with the Swiss champions on Thursday but they are scheduled to return for the league clash with Manchester City at White Hart Lane on April 21st.

A club statement said: "The club can confirm that Gareth Bale (sprained ankle ligaments), William Gallas (calf strain) and Aaron Lennon (soft tissue contusion below the knee) all underwent scans today after being forced off with injuries during our Europa League quarter-final first leg draw with Basel last night.

"The results of these scans have indicated that all three players are expected to return to training within two weeks.

"Bale, Gallas and Lennon have all commenced their treatment today and are responding positively."

Thank Hotspur for that. I guess we'll have to play the game of our lives against Everton.

To be honest, after this scare, I'd be okay with losing to Basel and concentrating on the league. That was too close.

Saw that news earlier, was glad about Lennon & Bale, shame about Gallas though ;)

That injury looks horrible and you can tell he needs some rest, two weeks and they are risking a another player.
I swear if AVB plays him he's a fu,cking amateur. I'm only pissed off because I care about his health.

AVB has a pretty good record on this, UHB. He's pulled players off and left them out all season, for the most teeny of injuries. I don't think he'd play anyone who was a 'risk', even to themselves. I think he has a better and more sincere relationship with his players than that.

Lets hope I have seen some crazy shiit on a football pitch, Back in the day my coach forced my bud to play cause we just needed a point to reach second place in our division and he broke his ankle now he walks funny. :/ Can't even run properly. I know our division isn't a percentage of the EPL but I hope they give Bale some rest. Begging them!!..
