As part of a Christmas special, Sky Sports pundits Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson, Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier were asked to name their ultimate Premier League XI, and the result certainly caused debate.

The Sky Sports team went for Peter Schmeichel in goal with a back four of Gary Neville, Tony Adams, John Terry and Ashley Cole. Steven Gerrard and Patrick Vieira were picked ahead of the likes of Roy Keane, Paul Scholes or Frank Lampard in the middle of the field with Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs chosen for the wings.
An all-Arsenal attacking duo of Denis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry made up the XI.

Who would you change?

I'd pick Shearer over Bergkamp, Scholes over Gerrard, and Lampard over Vieira. Other than that, it seems excellent.

Scholes over Gerrard, I'd say the rest is very good.

Not because I am fan of Lampard , but not having Lampard there is just pure stupidity of SkySports or purely done on purpose . And their ignorance towards Chelsea players. " ooh no ... God forbid , we have more players in all time great .... "

King Cantona over Bergkamp, beatiful player to watch but King Eric = MR Silverware.

Yeah hahaha I was JK btw, I also thought Cantona, such a carismatic and talented player, but I think he played before the BPL was named BPL and this is just BPL, thats why we don't see the likes of Cantona, George Best, Bobby Moore, etc.

I can sit back and offer some criticism as to which players should be replaced, but it is amazing how balanced this team is when looked at as whole.

Scholes should go over Gerrard and maybe Cantona over Bergkamp.

@CroatiaFan123 Cantona played when the english league wasn't called "Barclays Premier League" so I guess thats why he's not in there, this is only BPL

The only debate is in the midfield.. but I think Scholes Should definitely be there instead of Gerrard, Vierra/Lampard is debatable but Vierra would fit the team more. However I think Scholes is the only player who must be in the midfield imo.
