Schweinsteiger - ban extended. Cant play for any team under Mourinho :(

Not trying to pick on our coach, but this whole situation is really sad.

It's understandable that Mourinho doesn't want LVG's left over and some old-over paying players (at least I that's what I think).

The sad part is, when Mou explained that Schweinsteiger was no longer in his plan, he's better leave. Schweinsteiger wanted to stay and fight for his place (ofc, high paid). Mou didn't like it, and there HAD TO BE some sort of huge fight.

But now, Schweinsteiger expressed wanted to train with the reserved team to keep fitness and Mou even banned that. WHAT THE HECK??? He is banned to play for ANY TEAM under Mourinho's.

I never support this kind of treatment. If this was a case alone I would get it, but it also kinda happen to Mkhitaryan while we are struggling, that seems suspicious. NOT to mention Mourinho has reputation with treating players weirdly (Mata, Iker...)

First of all, I don't believe these rumors on the interenet.

BUT if this is true, I think we all kinda saw this coming. Schweinsteiger was not a big part of Van Gaal's plans to begin with, he played sparingly in the Premier League even when he was not injured. When Mourinho came in, we knew his methods, and we probably in the back of our minds were already expecting a complete squad changeover with Mourinho kicking out many senior or underperforming players.

While that did not happen for some of the players we expected (Memphis, Carrick), it did happen with Basti. For me atleast it's not very surprising, but very saddening.

To be fair, his quality (he was a world class player, no doubt) started going down almost 3-4 years ago.

You either retire a hero, or you play long enough to see yourself become a villain.

I heard Milan is offering Schweinsteiger an escape route in January

I m not the guy who believes all on the media either, especially English media. But it doesn't take a scientist to see what's happening here, that Sweni was banished from the reserve team. which left us guessing there has been a huge fight or disagreement between the 2 parties (Mou and the other side).

To be honest, we didn't see this coming. What we saw were he isn't part of the plan and being benched. but not this way.

From technical and tactical points of view, of course benching him is super reasonable because he's not how he used to be. But what is happening right now is beyond sadness. And with Mou, it has become a pattern, a sad scandalous similarity, which I dont blame him all the way, but seems there have always been a better way of solving it.

If (IF), any of this is true, I am as a fan, very disappointed.

This, but I would change it to: You either retire a hero, or you wait till Mourinho will make you a villain

I read today that both him and Micki are training with the first team....maybe bad sources? Or a publicity move from Mou?

@ashwin: a few from MU #twitter source. I hope its not just a political move.

If we can put everything behind and start over, make the best out of all players, that would be great.

I agree that it was unfair to stop him from training, I understand Mourinho don't to play him as a first team player but considering the shear amount of change he make to his first team, he could give a chance later on or at least as a sub. Anyway, good to see such a great player treated with the minimum respect he deserve.
