Schalke's revenge on Levy!

Bundesliga club Schalke probably have more reason than most to try and get one over on Tottenham Hotspur. They were squeezed in-between a rock and a hard place by Daniel Levy and Lewis Holtby last year and ended letting the German international go in the January window for a small fee, rather than keep him and lose him for nothing in the summer.

The club weren't too impressed with Spurs at the time and although the fans didn't turn against Holtby, a lot feel he made the wrong decision and will now be regretting, especially as more new signings come into the club and compete directly with him.

Schalke are going through a difficult period and needing to bring in reinforcements. Nineteen year old Julian Draxler is currently carrying much of the weight of the team and even he's said that the club need to bring in signings quickly or they're going to be having a difficult season.

They need an addition upfront and according to Bild are about to make a move for Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor. The problem is that they wouldn't want to pay a transfer fee and can't afford to pay all of his wages. Therefore Schalke would want Tottenham to loan them the player but also subsidise part of his income because they're aware he wouldn't take a pay cut to make the move.

On one hand it would see Tottenham paying for absolutely nothing but on the other they would be saving the rest of the money that they'd been paying Adebayor. With the number of quality players coming in this summer then it's bound to put some pressure on the wage bill.

Hehe, I can't blame them really. It's an interesting offer, because we're unlikely to find another buyer now, and so we'd be paying him a ton of cash for nothing anyway. This could work out cheaper, ironically.

Cheeky move by Schalke. I like that. ;)

Adebayor should be in a team like Galatassary already...
