@don - Oh, when Biscuits dive to get Motta red card? Yep, you need to defend when that happens. ;)

i agree with jose west ham did go there to get a point...but it was smart from big sam i mean he saw what thy did to man u when they tried to win, west ham, dont have those type of players so why would he even try it and at the end of the day down in the relegation scrap every point matters so well done west ham.

As for Mourinho.
Is there any chelsea fan to agree with him this time?
I Really want to know.
I would prefer to hear Alex or Vendetta's opinion on that.
It cant be only me that think that this is Hypocrisy.
When Xavi talked about Anti-football he was butthurt and now that Mourinho says the same because he didnt manage to win a game because of the opponents "anti-football" ?

@Don This is not all what he said (Jeez at the media) Of course he is frustrated and if I or you were him you would prolly feel the same and say the same exact thing.

Here is the full quotes:

Jose Mourinho:

"I just told the boys it is very difficult to play a football match when only one team wants to play. Football matches are about two teams playing and this match was only one team playing and the other team not playing."

"I told 'Big Sam', and I repeat my words, they need points and because they need points to come here the way they did, is it acceptable? Maybe, yes. But at the same time I told (him) also, this is not the Premier League, this is not the best league in the world - this is football from the 19th Century."

"Cheating - I don't know if that's the right word; pretending injuries, the goalkeeper winning time since the first minute. Not after 70 minutes, the first minute. Medical staff coming on, (players) kicking long balls to nobody, 10 defenders in the box. The defenders, they didn't put one foot outside the box. It's very basic.”

"I cannot be too critical because if I was in this position I don't know if I would do the same. Maybe, so I don't want to criticise that."

"I hope the point means something for them at the end of the season. My players did everything to try to win and to try to play.”

"I am happy with my players. Especially in the second half the West Ham goalkeeper saved a lot but also other players without gloves, they saved a lot. They had five defenders who looked more goalkeepers than defenders.”

"They threw their bodies at the ball, they slid, they gave a lot, so my respect to their spirit and their effort but my team tried everything. They played, they created, the goalkeeper saved, so I cannot complain about my people. It tried to change players to bring new things to the game but the only thing I could bring more was a Black and Decker, to destroy the wall!”

"I knew he would, he can't take it can he? He just can't take it because we've out-tacticed (sic) him, we've out-witted him. He just can't cope!”

And my reaction to the match is: Even though we were dominating the whole match and they were playing just defense with our 38 attempts, 13 corners, 71% possession, West Ham fought the whole match and deserve the 1 point, MOTM is definitely Adrian and West Ham defenders were Top Class.

As for those who keep using the term "Park the bus” It’s called “Defending” which is part of the game. Sure, we used that tactic for (three) matches where we were the far less talented side. But this is different. West Ham barely left their goal. The only thing we should have done was to attack our own goal just to confuse them! lol

Lol, Mourinho is disliked by many precisely because he is too controversial. He states that West Ham "wasted time on goal kicks, kicked long balls to no one, faked injuries" etc.

But what did you do against Barcelona the first few times Mourinho? That's all I saw Real Madrid doing sometimes. Just kicking long balls into no one so that Iniesta and Xavi have less time to work their magic and feed Messi.

Mourinho is a brilliant manager, and one of the best I've ever seen, but him and Sir Alex are two of the biggest hypocrites I've seen as well. No worries though. They'll still be loved, and love them or hate them, Mourinho and Sir Alex have the reputation to say whatever the f**k they want and get away with it. :)

I think there is a very big difference on playing defensive on a league game and on a final stage knock-out. Playing defensive on a league game will only get you 1pt for doing nothing but defending showing very poor football while in a knock-out stage playing defensive only works if you get or got an advantage in the other game, this is more strategic as you can defend one game and play regular on the other.

West ham playing like this is pure frustration for Mou because he could have been at the top of the league 1pt behind City but Sam knew 1pt for them was an amazing result, they dont have the players to play offensive as any other club would do and in such a risky relegation place that one pt. is crucial.

After a match like this, you can play the second leg as defensive as you want. Just strategy.

Its exactly the same thing!
What is for Chelsea/Inter/Barca/etc to go through a knockout stage is for teams like West Ham to avoid relegation.
And that 1 point you are talking about it is so important when its against a title contender team especially at Stamford Bridge(how many teams have managed to win or even not to lose there?)

As for Mourinho its not that he did that only with Inter at 2010.
He did that many times with Real Madrid.
With Real Madrid mate. Marcelo,Khedira,Alonso,Di Maria,Ozil,Ronaldo,Higuain,Benzema,Adebayor. The definition of Attacking players and team.Imagine Wenger for example with those players. He Made that team play like Osasuna against Barcelona even at Bernabeu.
For me it was a shame for a club like Real Madrid!
