Via SkySports and realmadrid.com,

Cristiano Ronaldo has renewed his Madrid contract (which was set to expire in 2015). His new contract runs until 2018, and corresponds to a 17.000.000 Euros a year salary, 1.000.000 more than Lionel Messi's contract.

Well it looks like Raul's record of 323 goals might not exist for much longer. :P

LoL ^^ Only kids 8- 12 years still crying for Ronaldo. He is our past. Perez would pay billion for him to say,everyone knows that .
p.s. He can score 5 000 goals for real madrid,but he will never win what he did at red shirt.

@tdot

Bale's contract is worth 300 k pounds a week. So in a year, that would be 15.600.000 a year.

mladen is correct we all knew CR7 was never coming back to OT. Stop trying to start a controversy.

^ Indeed they are. But they get 52% of Ronaldo's wage because of the tax rate. But at the same time, Madrid have to pay off 52% of their income every year as well. :P

^^ Aren't Madrid a tax-exempt entity...? ;)

@Lodatz

Indeed you are right. The Spanish government passed a law in 1990 saying that Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Osasuna, and Athletic Bilbao do NOT have to pay taxes to the government, provided that they are owned by their own members, aka the "socio" method.

Lucky us, I guess. But on the other hand, this negatively affects the rest of the league as a whole, so I'd rather HAVE to pay taxes and have more competition than battle it out with Barca each year. :P
