It's just for 2015 guys. Maybe Drogba wasn't as active this year.

I'm surprised to see Ronda Rousey on that list! Does she earn that much money? Or perhaps it's enough one show up on some charity event here and there?

@KTB

No, I believe this ranking system was made through adding up the amount of money these athletes have put into charitable activities over 2015.

A lot of the athletes' charity donation went unnoticable or unrecordable. Messi, Droba and some others are not in the list but it doesn't mean he doesn't do charity as much...

But obviously Ronaldo has done a great job there! Big heart

^Giving to charity AKA helping ppl that are in worse position in society in whatever way (financial/inspiring/helping/ ETC...) is probably the biggest thing that I respect. For me being a CHAMPION isn't just scoring 60 goals a season, it's what you do off the pitch that matters too, and I've found many times that C.Ronaldo has took this advice and have had a big heart fortunately. But you're still so young, so it's very understandable if you don't get it :-p

I think pro athletes should be taxed 10% of their annual profits and have that income go straight to various charities or research. There would have been a cure for cancer by now just from taxing the top 10 teams.

@descent

Then you should stop bashing and hating on Diego Costa who does a lot in charities too ! Just does not get same publicity . And unfairly portrayed as mr evil by media has been treated unfairly in many instances by referees .

2 things.

Ronaldo is the obvious first place based on the amount of money he earns, it is still a small percentage compared to other athletes. (Not hating). If I donate half of my salary to charity technically Im more dedicated than someone who gives millions who are not that valuable for him. If you consider that Ronaldo gave up more or less what he earns in a couple of weeks then it is not that impressive but still highly respectable.

The other issue is the publicity each athlete gets and how is it that they keep track of all donations? I personally dont like these lists, ranking people for this sort of stuff seems pointless. As if some of them only do it for the media attention.

Hope I dont sound like a hater but this things are interesting to discuss.
