I think its because EA rarely give MOTM cards to losing sides (as in not advancing) and Ronaldo was Madrid's best player, so thats why he got it. If Schalke had made it through, it would have obviously been Huntelaar.

It's odd because the Man of the match usually goes to best player from winning team. Huntelaar deserved it more, but choosing Ronaldo was obviously a financial decision. They want more people to purchase coins with real money.
