The Brazilian listed his greatest XI - a ridiculously attacking team.

The fact that he didn't include himself deserves respect on its own.

GK is great, defence with Beckenbauer, Maldini and Cafu is almost unbreakable. Cruyff and Maradona are deadly combination, with Zidane as AMF. Di Stefano and Messi with Pele. What an attack! Yeah, respect that he didn't put himself in XI. Would be great if CR7 could be there also. But this is freaking amazing...

To be honest, it's difficult to fit players like CR7, Eusebio, and Bobby Charlton in this lineup. They just don't make that final cut. You could make a solid argument about Puskas' or Baresi's absence though.

I was born in the wrong era. Why couldnt I have been born in Europe/Brazil in the 40's? The amount of world class players I could have enjoyed watching. Garrincha, Eusebio, Matthaus, Di Stefano, Gento, Puskas, Kubala, Cruyff, Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer, Baresi, George Best, Bobby Moore, De Freitas, Dino Zoff, Paolo Rossi, Socrates, Fontaine,, etc etc etc. I could go on for hours and hours and hours.

@Dynastian98 I think maybe Ronaldo wasnt old enough to appreciate Puskas and Eusebio's football, idk though because he did put Di Stefano.

@RM17

And there were also dozens of legends in South American leagues that we don't hear about nowadays. I googled a few of them to find out more about their history, and turns out that they played alongside legends like Alfredo Di Stefano. They were the men that Di Stefano himself idolized.

Yep, players like Garrincha, my grandfather has talked to me a lot about them Brazilian players, he says Garrincha was the best RW to ever play the game, or Djalma Santos, apparently the best left back in history. What people don't know is that the Brazilian league was SUPER strong in those times.

@RM

I think Ronaldo knew about Eusebio and Puskas, but chose to not put them because he preferred the likes of Pele, Cruyff, and Di Stefano. It's nice to see O Fenomeno's XI though. I've always wondered who the legends themselves perceive to be the best.

Lol RM17, i dont thinkyou would have enjoyed anything in the 40s in Europe, the 40s was the wors era of Europeen History ( 2nd world war ), the 70s was the best era to live in imo. :)

@tiki_taka I know, but I meant being born in the 40's, because if I was born in the 40's, I would have been old enough to appreciate those times. If I was born in the 1970, I would have been 10 years old in the 1980. Plus the 50's-70's were the best moments for the brazilian league
