omg! since 1992 manchester united spent about 350m pounds on transfer.
thats a lot, i just dont understand 1 thing. do these owners get profits from their investment in the club?like a certain amount of money every year, or they just spent money out of their love for the clubs, just want to see their clubs successful
@kambingku they are ruining football, they just wanna invest and make more money. U think Man City owners are spending billions because they love the club?
I do also think there is an element of having a shiny toy, too, quikzyyy.
No doubt that many of these rich investors are looking at sports ownership as a new cash industry, but I also think it's tied into the ego, too. If you're someone like Abramovic, already one of the richest men to come out of the collapse of the USSR, then what do you DO with your time/money?
Bill Gates spends his money on charity, and foundations to help alleviate poverty. Roman Abramovic buys a football club so have a big toy to play with. etc etc
city owners clearly use manchester city to promote their business, etihad airways, they even changed the stadium name to etihad.
so i guess all owners will get profits from their investments. abramovich has already spent abt 1 billion in 10 years, i assume he got at least 100 millions per season in return
Goodness. I wonder how much Madrid spent in the last 10 years.... O.o
Fast forward ten years since Roman Abramovich became the owner of Chelsea. English media take stock "to" Russian businessman.
During the last decade, the Blues reached for ten trophies: the UEFA Champions League, Europe League, three league titles, four victories in the FA Cup, two League Cups. Chelsea led at that time seven coaches, where Abramovich gave 74.6 million pounds (contracts, compensation). New players but it would cost a total of 702.7 million.
During the reign at Stamford Bridge Abramovich gave 942.8 million pounds.
