Rodrygo has reacted to a clip showing him embracing Steven Gerrard at Ibrox over the weekend by labelling the Rangers boss a legend on Twitter.

The Gers ended their pre-season campaign in style. After going behind, the Light Blues beat Real Madrid 2-1.

Goals from Fashion Sakala and Cedric Itten saw Rangers claim a major scalp.

The victory was all the more impressive given that the Gers had fallen behind.

Rodrygo delighted with Gerrard embrace

It was Rodrygo who gave Los Blancos the lead at Ibrox. He managed to squeeze the ball past Allan McGregor and find the bottom corner.

But that was not the only notable moment of the game for the 20-year-old Real Madrid starlet it seems.

Rodrygo took to social media to comment on a clip showing him shaking hands with Gerrard during the game.

And the Brazilian international only needed one word to sum up his thoughts about the Rangers boss…

Of course, Gerrard will not want his players to dwell on their victory over Real Madrid. It was a pre-season game, so will count for little over the course of the campaign.

However, with their Scottish Premiership opener ahead this week, the players would be forgiven for finding it tough not to get a little carried away.

Beating Real is a huge achievement, no matter what the circumstances.

It is a victory that highlights that the Gers have the potential to run away with the league title once again.

But Gerrard will know that Livingston would love nothing more than to bring them back down to earth with a bang on Saturday.
