We talked about this a few months ago I guess. In my opinion it would kill the footballs nature. Basketball has 4 Quarters with 10 or 12 minutes. And every attack has 24 seconds. So it's not a problem to stop the game after a position but in football that would slow down the games speed and kill the nature of football.
So while I was watching the NBA Finals (Go Spurs!) over this past week, I noticed that whenever there is a questionable call during the game, the referees would go to a review table and watch the replay so they could make the right call.
It came up to me that the ref's decision of the pitch is final. After watching the Brazil vs. Croatia game and seeing all the bad calls by the refs, I wondered how come they can't be able to review the call and potentially reverse some calls.
This could be used to decide on goals, offside, fouls on whether it is a yellow/red card.
