Reus fined for €540,000 for driving without license

How bizarre

He has been driving without it since Sep 2011. This is bizarre, of course everyone can make mistake, but this is way too funny :D.

Everyone is caught surprised, to me Reus is a very smart guy and handle most situation really well.

The offence is all the more remarkable given that Reus has also starred in a petrol advert in Germany, as well as featuring in promotional campaigns for one of the club's car sponsors.

Weird...

when they asked him to show the license he was wondering like "driver license? do i need one?".
ok that he's considered a player out of this planet, but maybe he was getting too literal about it.

I don't know, I'm the only one around here who thinks that 540k, is too much? Even tho he is a footballer and got enough money to pay it.

@quikzyyy
no, it's perfectly fair. in Germany fines are related to your income, which is fair in my opinion. and it's the only way to serve it right to the wealthy. for a player might be slightly different because they also get the pressure of the media, but consider a rich tax evader, do you think he'd stop after being fined a few thousand euros? or for instance take a player who is an asshole and doesn't give a flying f*ck, do you think he'd stop after getting fined for 10k euros? me i think he'd go on messing up.

if this happened in Italy it would have ended with autographs and selfies -.-

I totally forgot about that in Germany fines are related to income. Didn't knew either that he is without any valid license. I can imagine Balotelli's fines if he lived in Germany, probably his whole salary.

He earns millions anyways. Getting fined 540,000 euros for a pro footballer is like dropping a £10 note from £100 it aint a big deal

Sinking Dortmund, 25M buy-out clause, big fine...Damn his days in Germany are counted, and waiting for Barça one year transfer ban would be mission impssible.
And since Real try to buy any Barça target even when they dont need him at the moment ( aka Isco, Kroos, Neymar, Suarez...) He will probably go to Madrid soon, i would love to see him staying and saving Dortmund before leaving, if he could wait 1 year till joining Barça the respect for him would be huge.

rumors say he won't wait for Barca. i just hope he stays there at BVB, we need some variety in the european panorama.

@shpalman: thanks. Exactly, it's fair. And it should be, they charge it upon individual income, I just knew it yesterday ... I think it's great
