Resurgence of Fellaini?

Fellaini has been extremely impressive in the last 4 games. It wasn't long ago when United fans were happy to see him leave the club. With Blind in the holding position, there will be definite competition between Fellaini and Herrera. Who should start? I'd say Herrera because of his box to box abilities and his ability to score goals and make assists. But what he lacks in physicality, Fellaini more than makes up. And looking at the key stats this season, it seems like you really couldn't tell that Fellani has actually been playing better. Could this be the result of low expectations or not enough data?

Still has a lot to prove. He has been doing great when United most needed players to step up which is great. If he keeps improving his work then we will not need to get another CDM so desperately on January.

Herrera is technically better than Fellaini IMO. But EPL needs physical players, and if Fellaini keeps up his attitude and work rate, I'd take him over Herrera. With Carrick back, you never know. Van Gaal will probably switch to a 4-3-3 with Carrick in the holding role, and Roo as a CAM, and Fellaini as a shuttle depending on which team we are playing. Today's game against Crystal Palace is the best example. But I hope he doesn't use this against Arsenal. We will get out run on the flanks.

@the game +1 For thread, and +1 ashwin. I like Herrera a lot,but still lack of some strength...He will be OK soon. Fellaini like EPL physical style and he is backing in his Everton's form. His strength and jump and header are amazing, also passes .. No need to replace him for now with any player IMO.

Fellaini is a good player, nice guy and high work rate. He has the ability to bring the ball forward, pass, and header amazingly but his movement is a little bit slow, holding ball too long. It will be great if he can play as a DM. Herrera has one touch passing ability, his movement is faster. CM is the perfect place for him. One thing must do is to fix the CB. And latter, we can play 4 3 3 or 4 2 3 1 with Falcao/Van Persie | Roney/Mata - Di Maria - Januzaj | Herrera - Blind/Fellaini/Carrick | ... and King De Gea.

Am I the only one here thinks Herrera is way overrated? I think he's decent but not that good. Fellaini is not a big star but to me he has more to offer on the table than Herrera. Im glad to see Fellaini's back to his form and works hard.

^ I dont think any midfielder can be considered overrated in United after what happened with Fellaini...

But still, Herrera is doing fine. I think he is a great addition and I would rather have him over Fellaini.
