€38M is too much for him or not?
Congratulations Madrid! So these means Alonso will go?
38 million is way to much for him, his price shouldn't be more than 20 million.
^ Dude, it's Real Madrid.
@ramaboy10, Lol I know, but this is very bad for Real Madrid because now the price of every player they will be linked with will double because of deals like this.
@JuvE19 maybe they will pay Zidane's price for Suarez :)
He should cost about 16 mln euro
JESUS! €38M Real? REALLY?
Good job combating the constant inflation of football transfer.
Well, on the flip side... I'm sure RS are laughing their way to the bank. They'll have to find a replacement for the positions asap though.
38M is insane.. Way overpriced. A player like him like it or not is only worth around 18M. We will see if he succeeds and earns his price of fails and gets shipped out for half the price.
"Well, on the flip side... I'm sure RS are laughing their way to the bank."
Exactly. That price is just laughable. Sad thing is, it pushes up the prices of everyone else, too. :/
he is good but is he worth 38 mil? NO, maybe 20 mil
18m was the price of jordi Alba, he should have costed the same.
steal for 38 millions ? hahahahha good one
Guys, his price tag is 13.000.000 Euros (approx.). What Real initiated was the buyout clause of Illara. His buyout clause was 39.000.000, and that's what they initiated. But I'm hoping its a long-term investment, because he is worthy to replace Xabi Alonso.
This buyout-clause nonsense is half the trouble with today's football market. Back when they weren't standard, two clubs had to negotiate as to what the player was really worth, versus what the buyer was willing to pay, and etc.
Nowadays they just point to the buyout-clause, and say: "Pay that".
It just means that clubs without megabucks have no real chance of signing any top-quality talent, because the rich ones have just made the selling clubs get used to charging the Earth for their players.
And no, selling clubs, you're not 'victims' of this phenomenon. For all the talent you've 'lost' to the rich clubs triggering release clauses, you've made ridiculous levels of profit, and driven up the prices all over the market. AND, if you didn't want to lose your talent in the first place, then DON'T SIGN CONTRACTS WITH BUY-OUT CLAUSES, and then you won't lose them all the time.

Every spanish clubs must have realese clauses on every player, its the law. ...#themoreyouknow
If Illarramendi hadn't got a clause he wouldnt have been sold because he didnt want to leave and Sociedad didnt need to sell any players. IMO he is worth closer to his clause than 13 Million that someone here mentioned
"Every spanish clubs must have realese clauses on every player, its the law"
Another thing that is wrong with the way Spanish law handles football, then.

"If Illarramendi hadn't got a clause he wouldnt have been sold because he didnt want to leave and Sociedad didnt need to sell any players."
Er, that was exactly my point, in case you hadn't noticed. These selling clubs would be a lot better off.
Though I suppose there is no way in hell that anyone would have paid them 38m for this dude who is worth about 13m, otherwise.
Never said it was good that every player got a clause
Real had to pay the Clause plus some extra money to Real Sociedad in order to get this playermaker who has said he didnt want to leave, but as a person who watches la liga regulary i gotta say he is worth the price...
Real Sociedad will use the money plus some money from their already existing budget from before to get some new playrs im sure, they have good economy so why wouldnt they, They have had a solid well worked together team this year but a few new signing may fit in the group. Lets just hope not their other star Inigo Martinez (CB) doesnt leave...
