yes just like in the EPL, the CL places finish will be super tense
Lot's of lower teams improving quickly! Let's hope they make a good investment in someone!
they have, they've bought Vela from Arsenal last summer, he has been brilliant for Sociedad
wenger is stupid. Vela was an underrated player by wenger. He performs better than most Arsenal wingers like Ramsey, Gervinho
they're showing a very good performance on this second round in La Liga, time ago they're a strong team... remember it.
look at them when will they stop? 3-0 with malaga now.. if they win they have 20 matches with 11 wins 8 draws and 1 loss against real away with one goal...
This will be a real something for Valencia in the race for 4th place....
Important date: 28 April
Real Sociedad vs Valencia CF
its on!
I've only seen them 3 times this year but when I've watched them, they have been very impressive. It would be very interesting if they got a CL spot.
fuuck -_-They will be a serious deal in CL next season... if they keep this formThey can beat almost any team in the world at anoeta atm except for maybe bayernWe saw this against barcelona for example when messi had put barca ahead, La Real (as sociedad is called) put in a new gear and scored 3 goals winning the game in 2nd half. dominating the game and coming close to a 4th goalBrilliant in defense, counters (look at 2-1 goal vs Valencia) and possession football...
@knibis: that counterattack was awesome and their last chip goal was well taken
knibis what is sociedads story? arent they also based in bilbao? i might be wrong but i think they are. are they big rivals and different philosiphies with athletic playing only bilbao based players and sociedad bearing the royal mark of being a 'Real'?
San Sebastian in Basque region, close to Bilbao but 2 different cities...
They are not as strict with the philosophy to only use basque players but they have a great academy with mostly basque players..
ah that was it, both are basque. thanks knibis. is it the big derby like sevilla v betis, levante v valencia etc?
haha not even close to the Sevilla derby, In the Basque derby the mood is very friendly there is no rivalry between the clubs, hardcore supporters from both sides sit next to each other in the stadium
The Levante - Valencia match up is no real derby even though its the same city, Levante has always historically never been a real rival to Valencia, I don't think they ever have finished above Valenca in the table..
Yeah I heard the Seville derby is a war :)
Valencia needs to beat Sociedad by 3 points in the last 4 matches. to finish above them in the 4th CL place
example of what could happen(and these are the remaining matches):
Rayo 0-1 Valencia
Getafe 1-1 Valencia
Valencia 3-0 Granada
Sevilla 2-2 Valencia
8p
Sociedad 4-1 Granada
Sevilla 3-2 Sociedad
Sociedad 2-2 Real Madrid
Deportivo 1-0 Sociedad
5p
They best part is that Deportivo will be fighting like hell in the last game to avoid relegation and they are on good form
i think we might have got a 55% chance at this, we can do this.. AMUNT VALENCIA!
Why is the Sociedad highlights date set to 2 days ago, is this on purpose or what, this always happans??
wow their coach Paco Montainer has apperently resigned from the coach position... a loss for Sociedad? we will have to wait and see
^WHAT? WHY? and why do so now, when they're so close to reaching the CL? Admittedly, they're not favourites to win their last games but if they do then they will get that 4th spot as, you yourself have metnioned, their head-to-head is better than Valencia's. Football World = madness
HA! well, According to ESPN, Montanier turned down a contract extension as they couldn't agree "terms" (translation = Salary) and will be leaving THIS SUMMER (not NOW) to join French club Stade Rennes.
"Bordeaux and Nantes were also reportedly interested in now hiring Montanier but Rennes, whose millionaire owner Francois-Henri Pinault is now set to invest heavily in the club, got his signature.
AS claimed on Tuesday that Sevilla coach Unai Emery, a San Sebastian native, was La Real president Jokin Aperribay's choice to take charge for next season. Current Newell's Old Boys coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino, a reported candidate to succeed Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga, may also be considered."
they play brilliant football against all teams this season, they play like barcas possession football but quicker and if we look at their last 18 games they have 10 wins 7 draws and 1 loss against real away (4-3). not to mention that they beat barca..
Will X.Prieto, C.Vela, Aggiretxe, Griezman and c.o take a CL place? hope not for valencias sake but they deserve it..
6 teams within 6 points in the race for 4th place so it can be exciting this year in La Liga...
