Real Madrid have unveiled plans for the new Santiago Bernabeu ahead of a €400 million renovation of their famous home.The redevelopment is expected to be finalised in 2017, with building work on the site suspended for home matches, allowing the club to continue playing games at the Bernabeu during the course of the construction.

This is my reaction to this !

Looks like Real Madrid does not want to fall behind Barcelona . No offense to Barcelona fans , but this looks much better project . Also , better project from financial stand point and amount of time it will get to finish it .

I still prefer this historical stadium to remain like it is.
And of course not to change its name for money!

If Real Madrid build that stadium they will ruin the last piece of history they have, same goes for Barcelona. Changing stadiums is catastrophical for the identity of the club.

@Dephased

They are not changing the stadium. Just the exterior appearance.

@Don

Same thing. I don't know about Barca, but the Bernabeu's interior is not going to be touched. They're just making the outside look better because it is rather old and "out of fashion". The interior will be the same as ever, and the number of seats will remain 85,000+.

Hopefully it remains "Estadio Santiago Bernabeu".

@wolfie : We are not jalous, the final renovation voted by Barça looks good to for me. Both stadiums represents clubs identity. I like both the futurist design and the minimalist one.

Barcelona took to Twitter to hint at a possible redesign to theNou Camp, releasing first some images and then a video.

The Catalan giants insist that the plans are just that for the moment—artist's impressions and ideas, rather than a firm design, but nonetheless it will excite fans to see how one of the game's iconic stadiums is brought into the 21st century.

Furthermore, the timing of the images is noteworthy. Bitter rivals Real Madrid announced details and images from an ambitious €400 million (£330 million) overhaul of the Bernabeu just three days ago (more images and details can be found on the Bernabeu here).

The first tweet was a sideways look at the way the tiers of the NouCamp would look:

New Camp Nou building work: from May 2017 to February 2021. Four summers. Three and a half seasons. Construction work carried out in phases.

The total construction at the Camp Nou will increase from 40.000 square metres to 104.000 #fcblive

LMAO this even bigger rivalry . Not just who has better football club or history or stadium . Just simply who has bigger balls and coc*k .

I am impressed with new brainstorm designs . Either way I will be more then happy to watch some football on both of those stadiums when I visit it .
