Quelle Surprise, Monsieur Wenger

Okay, so it's probably nothing to do with Wenger, but, it has emerged that, for the FA Cup 3rd Round tie between Arsenal and Tottenham, that Arsenal will refuse to make the full seating quota for away fans available for Spurs fans.

By rights we should have roughly 9,000 seats (15%) allocated for our away support, as per FA guidelines. However, despite the FA guidelines, and despite Arsenal having played by these rules for EVERY OTHER GAME this season, including against Chelsea in the Capitol One Cup, Tottenham fans will have only 5,000.

And the reason? Because of "safety concerns" regarding the seats.

Yes, that's right chaps, less than a decade after building a brand-spanking-new, state of the art stadium that costs Arsenal fans 60+ quid a seat, Arsenal's ground just so happens to be "ill-equipped" to handle "so many" away fans.

Except, as we just noted, it's been perfectly fine for every other team visiting the Emirates.

So, in other words, this is Arsenal talking out of their arse to try and cover up a blatant attempt to cut Spurs' support in half for the FA Cup tie.

In case any of you Gooners were wondering: this sort of shi.t is why people don't like your club.

^Completely agree 100%. That's why I would rather be patient with him even he is still pretty raw and inexperienced. +1

I know I would wait for Lukaku, but I'm afraid that he is not the type that can fit with our style of play but he deserves his chance. We don't need just a clinical finisher but also a skillful player to go pass defenders and have a good vision upfront. Even if we bought a player I think we will defo sell Ba or Torres and Eto'o it's just for a one season contract, so we defo need at least 2 strikers later on and a CDM and maybe a CB.. or a LB I would love to develop Luiz as a CDM he is great at short and long passes also it's good that he is normally a defender. I would defo prefer him over Mikel any day. even Chalobah can take Mikel's place at the moment.

@Alex

Drogba wasn't the type to whiz past defenders, but he still got the job done. And in style.

Mourinho's style of play doesn't change all that much. He prefers defenders that know how to tackle and keep their line (Terry, Carvalho, Lucio, Samuel), likes to have a central attacking midfielder on his team at all times (Lampard, Ozil, Sneijder), and prefers a hard-working striker who'll pitch in to defense as well (Drogba, Milito, Higuain [He didn't like Benzema]). Lukaku will do fine, you just watch. He just needs to be given a lot of good service from Hazard, Schurrle, and Oscar.

And I don't think Luiz is tactically adept at DM. He's far too inconsistent when it comes to paying attention at critical moments and positioning. To be a DM, you need to be either of two types. One is a deep-lying playmaker who is decent at tackling (Schweinsteiger, Pirlo, Alonso), or you have to be a physical presence, who's main job is to tackle and intercept passes (Khedira, Javi Martinez, Toure). There are, of course, exceptions. Sergio Busquets fits into his position largely due to the playing style of the team around him (I doubt Busquets would do well in any other formation or style, as he is neither a physical presence nor a proper deep-lying playmaker), and even Yaya Toure is a slight exception, as he surges forward constantly to wreak havoc.

I can see Luiz being a physical presence, but he surges forward far too much to maintain the balance between offense and defense in the side. Luiz just needs to adapt his game to Mourinho's style. Mourinho wants his CB's to be focused. Not the reckless type, like Ramos. If Luiz can step his game up (because he sure has talent), he'll be one of the best defenders in the world.
