@Eden17Hazard, did you know that the British actually invented the word "soccer"? It actually derives from the word "aSOCCiation football". The British used that term for 18 years, from 1863 to 1881. So, in reality, there is much more history behind the term "soccer" than you think. The reason why "football" did not catch on in America is because they had already popularized the sport of American Football, a derivative of Rugby, by that time.
