Chelsea’s last five in the Premier League: W/D/L/W/L

Liverpool’s last five in the Premier League: D/W/D/D/D

Liverpool have won only 1 of the 10 away games since August .

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last eight league and cup games against Liverpool (W4, D4).
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last eight league and cup games against Liverpool (W4, D4).
    The Reds claimed three successive victories at Stamford Bridge in 2011 but are without a win there since then.

Chelsea

  • They have won one of their last seven games in all competitions.
  • The Blues have conceded 19 Premier League goals - only Norwich (21), Bournemouth and Newcastle (both 22) have worse records.
    • Their tally of 11 points from 10 games represents their worst start to a Premier League season, and equals the poorest by the defending Premier League champions (matching Blackburn's tally in 1995-96).
    • Cesc Fabregas has recorded one assist in 10 Premier League appearances this season - compared to nine in his opening 10 games last season.
    • Jose Mourinho has suffered defeat in six of his last 12 Premier League matches, after losing just six of the previous 64.

Liverpool

  • The Reds have drawn their last three Premier League games - the last time they recorded four consecutive draws was between December 2007 and January 2008.
    • They have won one of their last 10 Premier League away games (D5, L4). That was their victory at Stoke on the opening weekend of the season.

  • Chelsea have conceded at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 10 matches in the Premier League.
  • Chelsea have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches against Liverpool in all competitions.

Mourinho vs Klopp

2 wins 1 loose 1 draw - Klopp leads in this duel .

Team News

Chelsea have four injury concerns. Thibaut Courtois and Branislav Ivanovic remain out, while Diego Costa and Pedro are doubts. Nemanja Matic is suspended following his first-half red card last weekend.

Liverpool’s injury woes continue as Daniel Sturridge , Kolo Toure, Danny Ings, Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Jon Flanagan are set to miss out.

My prediction : 2-0 Chelsea . This match looks tricky but I think this match is exactly what Chelsea needs to get our recovery on our way . Liverpool might think this is a best time to play us but it is also best time to play Liverpool who are missing players with brand new manager .

@Marcus

That's right, I didn't see the match. I was at work, and only got to see the highlights where they only showed Costa's kick on Skrtel. I'm not allowed to comment on Costa's kick just because I didn't see the match?

Sure you are always welcome to comment but put yourself in my place . I stood quiet about those incidents even though i have more reasons to complain .

Why don't we talk about how crappy our players played . Mourinho is not doing it because idk why , I will do it . Hazard complete crap !

I am starting to think we do have a split dressing room because half of the team played well and other did not .

Our captain , our legend forever in our hearts but now should sit down and warm the bench for youngsters just like he benched our veterans back in a time .

Costa needs rotation . I feel like he is not 100% and we are forcing him to perform . Remmy should get a run . Begovic does not give same confidence to our defense like Courtois did because i saw our players not trusting him !!

Mikel for the first time in long time looked descent but he is such a simple player . Oscar seems to find form .

And Willian is our best player by far !

Azpi like always standard and consistent . Zouma immature to play on the right flank he needs guidance in CB and discipline from seniors . He left so many spaces for Liverpool .

Our players are fat and out of form !! And this the fault of the whole club . Board who scheduled our post season and preseason .

Sporting director who did not identify needed targets and allocate money to reinforce when other teams spent at least 80 million .

And outside of this club there is a f*cking media who just writes about us 24/7 . Adding more bs and stirring none stories into stories.

These are times when everything goes wrong ! However, it is cool , we will pull it through .

Lucas should have been off. But the way chelsea played, Liverpool could have won the game 10vs11. Maybe. And what's up with hazard ? I saw on twitter his stats for the game : 0 shots, 0 crosses, 0 takeons, 0 chances created. That's last season's player of the year.

@marcus, the first step to solving the problem is admitting there is one. Look at the way they have been playing and tell me that your precious blues will get top 4 this season. Not a chance. Tottenham have a better chance with the way things are panning out. You can blame Abramovic and the boards all you want, but it will only come back on the shoulders of one man and that is Mourinho. If he was anyone else, he would have been sacked a month ago. Things are just going from bad to worse with zero signs of improvement. This guy is toxic to any club because he has a huge ego without humility. His honeymoon period apparently only works for 2 seasons. Next destination: PSG.

Abramovich is just the owner. I believe there was some laziness in the team between the 2 seasons, where the good performance of last year didn't continue this. Probably his bus tactics are now avoidable, and as losses mounts, players lose confidence and even ability to perform well. Most of the players are great though but there are some like Zouma ou Hazard should just be benched....

@Thegame Spot on. This is not hateful comment from you, just facts there imo - I'd say it's actually obvious, but can't say that considering for some ppl it isn't obvious.

Mourinho at PSG would be quite terrifying for Europe. Madrid, Barca, and Bayern would genuinely fear PSG. Ancelotti almost beat Barcelona a few years ago, and PSG has only grown stronger since. Considering Jose is a better tactician than Ancelotti, his arrival at PSG would be bad news for other contenders.

Mou is not going anywhere. He'll stay put at Chelsea and we'll bounce back sooner or later. If there is ANYONE who can turn this around then it's Mou. The players are performing disastrously and you just can't put all that blame on Mou.

@the game

If my memory is not letting me down , You were backing Moyes to be given full season evaluation before he will be fired ? However, you proposing that one of the best managers in the world and arguably one of the greatest in football will be fired because of bad start to a season ?

I am sure we will finish top 4 if not top then it will be higher than mid table , I will be happy with any result !

It is not Mourinho who is poisonous but the English media who were dripping saliva as horny pigs when Mourinho came back to EPL and ever since not once did they back off of him . Printing so many BS stories always trying to attack Chelsea and players . His ego is for media to strive on it so players can do their job , but what do we know about his approach inside the club to train and prepare those lads ? Nothing but testimony of his present and past players who all say great things about it , but I assume some retired failed players , sport columnists and fans know better than people who worked with him directly .

It has been only 2 months of struggling and suddenly he is the bad manager who can't handle third season . Fact check . He only had one third season and it was Madrid and we all know who was the cry baby in that team but we let our emotions to block some rationality and sense in understanding what went wrong there . In other places he had nothing else to prove . He won everything and just like any employee at any company moved to a better job building his career .

Here is another fact : It took 4 years for Sir Alex to win EPL , Mourinho did it in first season hitting all the records . Wenger has not won one in 11 years and right now on the verge of being knocked out of the CL , but yet he does not get same treatment from bias media . Ancelotti has won 3 league titles since 1995 but you all suggest we should get him back instead . Seriously ???!!

It is funny way things work in football though . Let's say in big company manager has staff under him and if there are employees who are not performing well which affects managers job , he will always have full backing of the company to fix it . IF training and fixing does not work then firing those who are reluctant to improve or can't improve is optimal solution .

In old times when there is something broken you fix it not throw it . That is the slight difference and not always true one from daily life work environment and football club . If you have a shitty player then you work with him until it starts to work out but if player does not want to improve then GTFO . There are many top class players with professional work ethics who come and go , but not many top managers .

Impatience , like Klopp said , has become ridiculous in England ! Impatience among Chelsea fans is disappointing considering that 20 years ago mid table finish and a cup run was great season . Seeing impatience from you all is not surprising because you rather let your hate take over you than apply some critical thinking .

@Jozifbadmon

Absolutely agree ! He was jogging back into defense line ! WTF is this ? That is not what a professional should do ! That is disgrace to him and complete DISRESPECT to football fans ! That is the ego of players who forget that footballs fans are paying their bills !! We come to watch a match and if you are not doing your job then sit down to do some thinking and let someone else to show it .

I have to give some credit to Countinho because he is slowly becoming one of the best CAMs in the world .

@expertfootball

Zouma just needs to go back to CB . YOu are right he did many mistakes in right back position , because he is not one . That is where Mourinho drops the ball , he keeps putting trust on Terry and Cahil and thus displacing Zouma who needs games to develop, so he puts him on the right . That is the only explanation i have .

Damn that comedian on the video...a 5 years old could find something funnier I've seen 442oons mourinho jokes and I find them funny as fek but this video of that german comedian is just grabbing views and attention without saying 1 funny phrase.

Spot on now I have seen many teams having a very bad form in the start of a season but such hate towards Chelsea? Nah Ive never seen that which I find quite amusing dont know why Marcus2011 tries to bother by explaining the situation when like 90% of the people here just hate us xD.

Even when Moyes wasn't getting the results he needed with ManU they didnt even got so much hate around them for their success at Fergie years.
