**Premier League Standing : Matchday 20**   2015/2016 vs 2016.2017

We're halfway through the season , it is a good time to look at the tables from this year and last year and see which teams have improved and which teams have declined and whether or not the trends will last.

Last seasons poor performance from the big teams really opened up the league. Last year on MD:20 the first 16 teams were within 20 points of each other , this year only the first 8 teams are within 20 points of eachother.

Chelsea and Liverpools performances this year (compared to last) have really changed the dynamic of the table.

Leicester city's season has been quite horrendous considering they are defending the title, although they are doing well in Europe and FA cup ,

  • biggest factor for me is loss of N'golo Kante (midfield) and Vardy has yet to brake a record this season

West Ham united when compared with last season doing horribly, Payet while still creating chances has scored less and assisted less - perhaps the new stadium and new signings is why they are playing terribly

Crystal Palace are also having a bad season compared to the form they had a year ago. Probably having do to with the loss of Wanyama (midfield)

Tottenham, Manchester city and United seem to have slightly improved the amount of games they are winning but have held a similar spot in the table both years midseason. All of these teams made big signings in the midfield areas.

What do you think, which teams have made drastically improved or declined? and for what reasons?

Sunderland are the most consistent team I have seen in a while, they have the exact number of point they had last year! XD Team that are doing a lot better for themselve (other than Chelsea) are WBA, Everton and Bournermouth. Totteham and Liverpool also have a lot more point than last year. Looking at those results, can't help but feel like the battle to escape relegation is gonna be tough this year.

Edit: Southampton also have the same amount of point they did last year. :O

@Dynastian Just show how better both Chelsea and Liverpool have been with their new manager in my opinion this year. Still think that last year, Leicester and Chelsea had switched place in term of results. :D

@Dynastian

Big teams are winning again against smaller teams, and Arsenal is still Arsenal.

Good to know I guess.
