Fernando Santos has been appointed Portugal's new head coach.

So what do you guys think? will he handle big-players like Cristiano, Moutinho, Nani, Pepe, Coentrao, Carvalho to EURO 2016 success?

He's decent, but he might find it hard to manage those big stars. Portugal squad is not that strong, but they do indeed have some big players.

A side note is that: he has been coaching in Portugal, and Greece (only those 2) and was the head coach of the Greece in the last world cup.

He was very lucky when he made it to the knock out stages in the world cup with Greece. They won vs Ivory Coast by a dive from Samaras.

Most of the Portuguese play worse in the national team than in their club. Nani is plain average, Carvalho overrated Pepe uncontrollable and the Young players are not so talented than the previous generation. Going to be difficult.

expertfootball you are wrong in everything you say i think. Nani is really good now in Sporting Lisbon after getting good playing time, William Carvalho is a beast in CDM and not overrated at all, Pepe is one of the best CBs in the world and I think Portugal have great players coming up

@Lilywhite

Pepe is not one of the best CB's in the world. This is coming from a Madridista.

Carvalho is excellent, Nani is plain garbage. I hear that Portugal's next generation is golden.

Dynastian- have you seen Nani for Sporting? he is playing excellent. The reason you say he is garbage is because he didnt get playing time when he needed. also how can you say that about Pepe? he is fantastic every time i watch him.

For Portugals upcoming generation i heard its one of the best too.
