Stamford Bridge side plan contentious White Hart Lane swoop.

Tottenham midfielder has reportedly agreed a deal to join Chelsea this summer according to theMetro.

Read great Chelsea stories in Indonesian Bahasa! Chelsea berita.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho will look to lure the 25 year old to Stamford Bridge and have already begun discussions with FIFA agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who helped Chelsea to bring in Oscar, David Luiz and Ramires.

Real Madrid and AC Milan are also said to be keen on the former Corinthians man but Chelsea are leading the chase to sign the combative midfielder.

Paulinho started the season well but has seen a marked dip in form since Andre Villas-Boas was axed and a move to west London could well tempt the Tottenham man, especially as the White Hart Lane side has failed to secure a Champions League berth.

Chelsea pipped Spurs in the race to sign £32m playmaker Willian and will look to make Paulinho their latest Brazilian capture in a move that is sure to anger fans of the north London club.

Tottenham paid £17m for Paulinho last July and it may well take a bid well in excess of that fee to convince Daniel Levy to sell to an arch rival.

As well as being able to offer Paulinho Champions League action Chelsea can probably offer a significant pay-rise and want to secure a deal so as to be able to unveil the player after the 2014 World Cup finals.

Seems like the only transfer Spurs got right was Eriksen. But what a bargain he was. Great talent, reminds me of a young Sneijder. I can see Vertonghen signing with ManU. Maybe Spurs will cut their losses with Lamela and Soldado. 60 mil is too much to sit on the bench. They should try and sign Lavezzi and Menez as replacement. Adebayor really stepped up to the plate after being shut out the squad by AVB. Also, what's up with Sherwood and his love of Benteleb? I haven't seen anything special about the kid.. Paulinho would be great at Everton.

@Zakzook: No, Mourinho has his type of player just the same as any other manager has his favorite type of player (SAF and his #7s). Mourinho prefers likes players (preferably strong as well) who can also defend/press well. He doesn't want a Mata type of player. That's why he sold him.

Cristiano Ronaldo is workaholic . He had defensive duties in Manchester as well as he has them now Real Madrid . First season under Mourinho , Ronaldo was doing fine , but second and third he was turned into beast machine . I am sure Hazard will go trough same phase .

Hazard will become best in the world and then we will sell him to Real or PSG for 70 million or more :D why ? Because players like him want to move they want to prove themselves in other teams and leagues . So , I am long prepared for such departures just as I was prepared for Mata departure .
