Never had the chance to see him play :( But. it's good to see he's still keeping himself active and checking off things from his bucket list :) He's 49 so it's kind of understandable that he won't be that good, plus all the skill that's required to play tennis. And it's good for all of us that he chose to become a footballer when he was younger :)
Italy and AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini’s professional tennis debut ended in a doubles defeat at the Aspria Tennis Cup in Milan.
Maldini partnered with his coach Stefano Landonio and lost 6-1 6-1 to Poland’s Tomasz Bednarek and Dutchman David Pel. Maldini and his partner earned their spot in the tournament after winning a qualifier with Landonio.
As written by BBC.com, “The Milan event is part of the Challenger Tour, one tier below the top-level ATP World Tour. Landonio, 46, was once ranked 975th in the world, and has coached Maldini since he retired from football.”
