Hazard is insanely overrated by Chelsea fans. He is an outstanding talent, but nowhere near the level that Messi/Ronaldo were at his age. By the age of 23, both Ronaldo and Messi had won a Ballon d'Or. Hazard will simply never be at that level. It is not an insult to his talent, but a mere picture of reality. Messi and Ronaldo are once in a generation players, Hazard is just another great talent.

He's most likely going to end up as a Gerrard/Bale type of player. He'll leave that type of legacy behind. Not as an 'all-time great'.

Ronaldo and Messi were as much hyped as Hazard when they were his age. Ronaldo and Messi did not perform better than Hazard in the world cup especially Ronaldo and in my opinion rating them sky high 93/94 is way overrated. They are not better than the last 2-3 seasons. Hazard is not advertised as much as Messi and Ronaldo and that's a huge difference.

Hazard was almost non-existent in the World Cup. His team was outstanding, and yet he contributed almost nothing. Don't speak of Ronaldo's performances with Portugal because Hazard was in a much better position than Ronaldo to perform in the World Cup in the first place. Belgium > Portugal, simple as that. But his performances were just as miserable as Ronaldo's.

Messi performed well considering the position he was put in and the amount of marking he had to deal with.

Do you see the difference between Hazard and Ronaldo/Messi at their respective ages now? Or do you want me to make it more apparent?

Hazard has the potential to be one of the best players of his generation. But for him to be an all-time great like Messi and Ronaldo is impossible. The gulf in talent is too wide.

Your argument is great. But from my own perspective, Ronaldo and Messi are playing for the best 2 clubs in La Liga which makes it easy to break records and score as many goals and be praised by football community. Both Barca and Real Madrid play around them so no wonder they got these achievements. Hazard on the other hand is not having it all handed to him, let alone playing in the most physical league in the world with a better defense than other leagues.

@Alex

But Ronaldo at 23 played for Sporting and United. Hazard's Chelsea team is still one of the best in the world, and he still can't bring together the performances, domination, and statistics that Ronaldo/Messi could at their age. All the stats I gave you above were when they were both of the same age.

Give him time, you never know. He may only reach the form of his life in 5 or so years, but don't judge his legacy before that. You never know what will happen.

Hazard is a great player no doubt about that, but he is no where near the level of Ronaldo and Messi. Everyone should agree on this.

As a Chelsea fan, I also think Hazard is overrated by other Chelsea fans. What's really annoying at times is that he takes the pace out of the game and tries to show off, that's why I prefer players like Schürrle who have a more direct approach to the oppositions' goal. I'm not saying that Schürrle is better than Hazard, but Hazard really needs to step up his game if he wants to be a Ballon d'Or contender in the future like he said in previous interviews. Still.. will he ever be better than Messi or Ronaldo? No.

I dont see the problem with that... FIFAs overalls depend on the position of the player so defensive stats would affect a lot more than any other and that's why those player's overalls ended up like that.

I get what you mean, but Phil Jones can't defend at all, and Per doesn't deserve to have a rating 17 higher than Ake
