"Why not? Do you know what a team of the season means?"

Yes. Do you understand what subjectivity means?

Zabaleta has been outstanding this season, as a true workhorse willing to spend his time making sure that his goal is rarely threatened from his flank. That's ultimately what a defender is there to do. Coleman has been flashier, sure, and certainly has had a brilliant season, but the only reason he's been picked is because he got 6 goals. Great. Like I said, I prefer to judge defenders based upon their abiolity to defend, and Zabaleta is better in that respect than any other full-back in the league.

Sagna has been merely average, but hey, you're an Arsenal fan, so.. ;)

Zabaleta played 44 matches as first-choice starter in a side that won 2 championships this year, and conceded the second-fewest goals in the country. He wasn't QUITE as good as last year (when he was voted City's player of the season), but he was still excellent, and rarely put a foot wrong all season.

So, I think he deserves to be there, and is certainly the first name that springs to my mind when I consider the best RB in the league.

Hope that cleared it up for you. :)
