He's only 21. If we get him as a backup striker it may be a great choice, but hope it's not that striker which will have to carry us next season.
It is a bargain buy, no doubt, but look at his highlight reel. It's full of speedy dribbling and passing. That's the kind of striker that will suit Arsenal's style of play. I'm backing the transfer if it is true. I'm obliged to back it anyhow.
With this new Puma deal, I'll be surprised if that's the only transfer Arsene makes. The summer isn't here yet so I'm still pretty calm about it, but he absolutely needs to add depth to the squad! And possibly a new RB...
right now you dont need this guy. you need to buy someone of class like messi, obviously you wont get him but you need someone like that in your gamw who will finish of the chances created
How about an actual class striker? Mandzukic looks like he might be leaving after Lewa's arrival. Wenger could look into him. He's a target man like Giroud, except 100 times better.
From the highlights I've seen this guy is super talented. He's the same age as suarez when he came to the EPL, his dribling, his finishing and his technique are kinda reminiscing of suarez too. And he's scoring lots of goals for a bottom table team in a very healthy bundesliga.
If you look at wenger at arsenal, he never bought a world class striker. Henry and RVP were bought before they turned out world class. Same for Adebayor. But I would welcome someone like Cavani, of course. Would be a great buy and a bargain. The best would be to sign this guy AND another striker of the Cavani/Costa pedigree. From what I've read Drmic can also play as second striker, kinda like walcott. So he would add serious depth to our attack (which we desperatly lack).
@tiki how can you say it's not working when some of his bargains over the years include Henry, RVP, Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Alex Song, Fabregas, Koscielny, Sagna, Anelka, etc, etc, etc.

Yes but look at the amazing list of flops you had, and how many points those bargains costed you, how many titles lost ?
I understand the fact that he seems promising, but if you want to be more competitive in winning trophies you need to adapt to Europeen level, why doing this when Arsenal can just buy bigger and get better results ?
Imagine if you got Suarez when you had the chance to sign him ? You cant compete with Chelsea, City in the future by having this signing politic.
How many players stayed on your list ? Very few, because players see Arsenal as Club to make you progress and give you enough visibility to be signed by big buying club.
Thats why by buying Ozil, i thought Arsenal was going to change this vision that makes all their stars stolen by others club, by showing strenght in the market and getting their ambitions higher...
I dont mind if you have many bargains for the future, but this year you need quality signings for immediate results.
This signing politic is satisfying for the club owners as they made huge earnings by buying these players, but where is the results for the fans ?

Maybe Arsene is increasing the depth of the team. I think it may be the right move to go for 2 strikers in the summer transfer window. But now I more wonder if Wenger is going to sign Drmic + Draxler +1 more striker. Or if he don't want to pay Schalke that much and wanna buy Drmic instead of Draxler.
Why is everyone complaining? Yes this IS a bargain. However, if this guy is THE striker he plans to buy then forget about competing EPL/CL next year.
@tiki the only teams in the world that are bigger than Arsenal are Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona. Given our history, our stadium, our training grounds, our manager, our fans, Arsenal is seen by players as the end of the line in their carreer. Like I said, unless you leave for madrid, bayern or barca, you can't get much higher.
As I've explained countless times on the forum in countless threads, the past few years, Wenger and the board have built a stadium. The unfortunate thing is that building a stadium is expensive. And many players seeing that we weren't buying big took that as a lack of ambition and decided to leave. Or wenger decided to sell them. But it never changed the fact that Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
You talk about suarez, but we did try to buy him. We offered £40m, Liverpool said he wasn't leaving. We tried to get Higuain as well, but Napoli overpayed and Wenger refused to match their offer. Wenger had responsability in these, but you can't say we're not changing our strategy in the transfer market.
@zakzook who knows ? I'm convinced we could have competed for the EPL until the end with only Giroud if 2 of our 3 best players hadn't been injured for half the season.
From what I've heard, Drmic has a very very low release clause if Nurnberg are relegated. So low that it would be criminal not to sign him. We can definitely afford him + a top striker.
FFS Wenger young promising strikers are good but we need a WORLD CLASS striker who is ready this guy is probably good but needs some years more. Buy a 26 year old clinical finisher. Maybe Benzema or Costa not some dude who shows promise. This is another Sanogo not gonna be used much.
Wenger should've signed me up. I've been top scorer in my division (underaged division) for the past 4 seasons now. I need some new talent around and frankly, I'm still amazed that I wasn't scouted by Barcelona. They would be drooling for me if they saw me play.
if you have scored that amount of goals for a bottom team in the second best league in the world (la liga being nr.1) you are fit for arsenal imo, maybe not starter though
^ La liga best league in the world? Haha give me a break even serie A is more entertaining.
Well i would ignore the League battle because actually no League is best for everything, but i would clearly put Seria A and Bundesliga 3rd and 4th without any order.
We cant have a whole view because many only follow 1 or 2 Leagues Maximum, or have preference for one or another depending on the team he follows and the style of play he admires.
But i would say that there is no doubt Liga/Epl are the Top 2 Leagues actually.

'' The journalist : stories of love in football often ending bad, with your Manchester City is cloudless. Your club with liverpool HAS Become PL favorites . Do you remember when you were at Arsenal and you are left, people said how odd choice , what a mercenary choice. Finally facts have given you reason.
Samir Nasri answer : there is a small problem with the money if we leave for a club where there is more money , you are treated like a mercenary .
Me I have done the analysis at the time when I have signed Manchester city, I signed in a club where there was Yaya toure , David Silva, Sergio Aguero , Carlos Tevez and i was an Arsenal player for 3 saisons and we won anything and at the end of the season we sold our best player Cesc Fabregas.
And no disrespect to anyone at all , I made a meeting with Arsene Wenger, he told me dont worry, i will replace it, we will strengthen I have taken Gervinho and therefore , I have prefered to go to City and I have won titles , so I earn more money now that is clear and we won three titles and why not a second league title in 3 seasons, I am very happy with my choice . I made time to translate just to show you how simple its working for players choice, and what you could do to be as big as the 4 teams you said before.

Arsenal are reported to have sealed the arrival of striker Josip Drmic from Nuremberg, according to Sky Germany.
21-year-old Drmic has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent days, following his 15 goals in 26 appearances for the Bundesliga side this term.Should reports prove accurate, the youngster would be a typical Arsene Wenger signing, hungry to impress in the Premier League. Josip Drmic is the Swiss-striker at Nurnberg with 15 goals so far, 47 per cent of all Nurnberg goals.

For a backup striker he's looking good, but hope that this is not that transfer which will lead us to trophies.
