@amir_keal Wow, didn't know about all that, then again, I do believe 2010 finale was very dirty and the game was so close, its one of those game which could have gone in totaly different direction if even a single detail would have been different or if the referee would have not been the same. All in all, I feel even worse for Netherland now, but it doesn't really matter does it... It won't give you guys any kind of consolation and thats the worse part about it all. :(
First, I don't like Spain BUT that youtube video is merely a personal or a group of people's opinion. I personally think Spain was a better team than Netherlands in 2010. De Jong did raise his legs and he deserved a direct red card too. Netherlands also got lucky against Brazil as well.
Anyway, I just believe the team which was better in that time won.
No hard feelings,
Thanks
Considering the fact that Eredivisie lost its power for the last 5-6 years, going down like 6-7 place at UEFA's ranking system and Netherlands for the last 3-4 years; these too should be connected. Like mentioned earlier
it does not produce enough good quality youngsters.
Yes, but we did knock out the so called best team in the world cup (brazil) and I actually think the match was fixed. Yes De jong should have got a red card but in the 1992 UEFA Champions League that game was acutally fixed. As much as I love football l can't always trust it.
Hi guys,
As we all know, the Netherlands (the Dutch, Orange hurricane, Holland) are among the elite nations in football. But have been going down recently after the last golden generation.
In fact even during the last World Cup 2014 which they ended 3rd, no-one did expect that since all the star was on the down-fall (except Robben), addition to Strootman was unjured (so, wonderful job Luis van Gaal did there with the tournament). Ok, let's assume they had been still decent back then, the disaster came afterward.
After that sweet world cup, the Dutch failed to qualify for the European Championship... HUGE blow, Guus Hidding was the main man to blame, right after the Dutch FA (stupid to appoint HIdding right after LVG - the complete opposite). And now struggling with the WC qualification.
But the biggest problems are:
On the contrast, the Belgium seems to do way better...
Is this just bad luck?
