Jose Mourinho: "At this moment it's difficult for us to play at home, because playing here is like playing in an empty stadium."

Opinions ..

Chelsea fans are quiet then i guess. crowd has a lot to say so I understand Mourinho, they should be more extatic when Chelsea are doing so great.

Well... EPL atmosphere is not known for being the best. I dont blame Chelsea, most of the stadiums are probably like that.

Chelsea fans love Mourinho, I want to see what they think about this.

God has spoken and his words are law. We suck at supporting our team at home. It is known.

Not that funny @ Fru_Toot and @ mladen. The home atmosphere is a growing concern at Stamford Bridge though (as it is in many of the other big English clubs as well). Ticket-prices increase and the tourism increase to the grounds. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Chelsea play when they are in London?

However, atmosphere is still great at the Mathhew Harding stand (season-ticket holders among others) and at The Shed End.. but the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge in general definitvely needs improvement.

In the past ticket prices were cheeper, but the Chelsea Headhunters had big influence at the stands.. Tourists weren't as interested in Chelsea then either, I guess..

However, Chelsea is definitively having great away support instead. chelsea supporters will be louder away than at home.. Maybe because the real fans rather show their support away than at Stamford Bridge, since the ticket prices are expensive and lots of tourists fill the arena.

Also, not sure if Mou said that today as well, but he has definively said it before.

^You're taking in too seriously. We have a good atmosphere home OR away, but some matches are just quiet (it happens to all teams) - I even remember that Sagna interview last season when he warned PSG that Stamford Bridge is intimidating. Here in England, we won't see full on chanting for 90 minutes every match like in Bundesliga. The football culture there and the football culture in England is different.

Though I definitely agree about or away fans being awesome.

@Tuanis I often go on the official Chelsea chat forum, to see what people think about what is going on in general with the team, and I can say that since this interview the fans are pretty much p*ssed. Some feel thats its a lack of respect by josé, for the fans that pay week in week out high priced tickets and take time out of their family time to go to sh*tholes all around england, while some understand his POV. The team need a crowd that will push them for 90min even against the mighty QPR. Chelsea are known to be one of the best away support of the league because the real fans always go, as KTBFFH said, but the tourists, the middle class and the over presence of the stewards keep the home support quiet. Jose wants to make the board react, because the fans are as important as the team for success.

Or maybe they should invest in a bigger stadium.
