What jack ass wrote this? Gerard, Carringer, Scholes and Giggs are hailed as legends for sticking to one club and being LOYAL, because thats still a thing you know. Its a ridiculous artical didn't even bother reading past first paragraph. Messi has conquered pretty much every team in Champions League (except Chelsea).

Agreed about the World XI,; disagree about Messi and Ronaldo.

The author fixates on Maradona, sure enough, but fails to recall that Pele stayed his whole career with Santos (well, aside from retiring to the US league :p), and it's not even like Santos were the Barcelona of the day, or the Brazilian league had the clout of today's La Liga, as good reasons to stay there.

I still rate the PL higher, as is discussed in other threads, but to suggest that Messi is somehow inferior just because he wants to stay in the greatest club side of all time, which was built around him and his talent. Yes, Ronaldo has moved and succeeded in three leagues; and the teams have been built around him, too.

But none of them were this Barcelona. We haven't seen Ronnie in a CL final since that victory over Chelsea, when he played for Man Utd. Messi has won 2.

Edit: -- him, and his talent, is sheer lunacy*.

When a team make you what you are today you just Cant leave them.
When you were 1.40 cm and had problem with growing up and could never be able to make your dream true and play football you just cant leave that Club!
When your parents and generally your family lives in poverty for years and the club that want to sign you at the age of 12 found them a job and a home at Barcelona in order to live like a normal human again you Just cant leave the club.
when you realise that if that team havent seen seen you and helped you paying the best doctors in order to solve your problems your heart cannot leave them.
When without their help you would have not managed not to be one of the best Players of All time(!!!) but probably not even a football player not even for his local club(rosario) you know that you Owe them much more than people think.
THE ONLY SURE THING IS THAT THE CLUB AND THE FANS OWE TO MESSI THE SAME GRATITUDE WITH LEO AFTER ALL THOSE HE HAD OFFERED TO THE CLUB!
