@rama
No, because giving assists are easier than scoring goals. Half the time, you can just pass the ball to Ronaldo, and he takes one step forward and scores from 30 yards. He'd get the goal, and you'd get the assist. But which was more difficult? Your 5 yard pass, or his 30 yard shot?
And that's why I gave goals 2 points, and assists 1.5. :)
That being said, people with ridiculous vision like Xavi, Iniesta, Mata, Ozil, etc. obviously give more difficult assists than people like Villa or Benzema.

I see what you mean. One assist could mean Xavi passing from 30 yards out, or Van Persie playing a simple ball to Rooney who smashes it in from 20 yards. My bad.
Being the Chelsea fan I am, I thought Mata behind Ozil this season is preposterous. I went on ESPN and checked both their stats and Mata ranked higher than Ozil. Mata got 85.5 pts and Ozil got 81.5 pts.

@Dynastian: Well as right as you are about assists could be simple passes the same thing could go for goals. Goals could be simple tap-ins or shots from the inside of the penalty box. It could be penalties or goals that were offside but still considered a goal for all we know.

@Vendetta
Woah there, Ven. We both made calculation errors. Mata got 85.5 (you're right) and Ozil got 84.5 (I'm right). Don't worry, I rechecked. And calm down bro. They're both amazing players.
@Vendetta
That being said, goals win games, as we all know, and that's why goals are given the priority one my list. You're all entitled to your own opinion, but to me, it is harder to shoot on target at goal than to make a pass.
@Dynastian: Very well. By the way, I wasn't mad :P I just felt something was wrong about it. And yes, both are truly amazing and talented players :)
Hmmmm. If you notice carefully, Falcao (claimed as the best "pure striker" in the world) is considerably behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We all know that stats aren't everything, as neither Iniesta or Xavi can EVER make this list, but for a striker, stats define how good they are. As you can see, Cavani, Suarez, Lewandowski, RVP, and Ibra are all better than Falcao (at least when it comes to stats). It may be true that RVP, Lewa, and Ibra have a considerably better team, but Napoli and Atletico are just about even, and Liverpool is nothing without Suarez and Gerrard. So Cavani and Suarez excelling past Falcao may go to show that Falcao receives a bit too much praise for his work. Don't get me wrong though. I still think he's a fantastic player. I'll just say that he's not as good as the praise is sometimes.
You're right about that but you have to also look at the difficulty of each league. For example, Ibra in Ligue 1. Ibra is one of the greatest strikers ever, but scoring in Ligue 1 isn't as easy as scoring in the EPL or La Liga.
^ I guess thats why people think neymar is going to broken like a breadstick in European football.
Interest list. I don't like assigning points because they obscure things but if your going to I would've thought 5 for goals and 3 for assists would've been even more accurate.
Also, let me preempt Golden by stating that you should've also included the Primeira (Portuguese League) as they technically supplanted Ligue 1 as one of the "big 5" in Europe. I'd be interested to see the score of some of their better players as well.
^ In fact, I was thinking of giving it a mention, but then I decided not to. France is big, Portugal is small. That's how it is. Good to see you're pointing it out, though. Always paying attention. ;)
Now that two of Primeira's top players, Moutinho and Rodríguez, are gone to namely France, one would think they're trying to buy back the 5th. We're sure as hell going to give them a fight.
Great list, though, Dynastian. Thanks for sharing. Partly shows how good Lewa really is. Very impressive stats from Mata, too.
Falcao behindcavani.
To me, this list has no meaning because Walcott and Ribery are in the same ranking..
So I made these calculations myself. If I missed a player, please comment below so that I may add them to the list. I only did players from England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France. These include international competitions as well. All data taken from ESPN.
