^true. vidal can defend and sometimes can be deadly at offence. modric is a great CAM. i like both players.

Who's better then ? I don't see any one better than him in the EPL, or la Liga, or Serie A, he's the best I've watched this whole season.

I don't think the stats tell the whole story. In my opinion there are a few things that take Modric a level above these other midfielders. He has great vision and the ability to use every surface of his foot to pass, he has amazing spatial awareness and godlike dribbling. He even has a nice burst of pace. All of that makes him able to create huge spaces for his teammates to run into. A little like Zidane used to do. Vidal, Xavi, Gerrard and Schweinsteiger don't have that whole package. They're all great, but Modric is simply more gifted as a footballer.

I would say that Iniesta is another midfielder who is insanely gifted. But they don't have the same profile, and Modric is simply my personal preference.

Factoring in the additional stat that Gerrard has 10 assists (Schweinsteiger 4, Vidal 4, Modric 8), and 13 goals (Schweinsteiger 4, Vidal 11, Modric 1), it would seem that Europe's best midfielder has been wearing the red of Liverpool this season.

But I happen to agree that stats do not tell a whole story by themselves, and Modric is definitely the better player in my opinion than Vidal. I knew the Madristas would come around, Dynast, when they saw him settle and being played in his favored position.

I miss him. :(

^ You didn't produce them... sure they have gotten better but they were already world class players by the time they left for Madrid
