Modric: Real Madrid heart and soul

God, I dont even want to think about Ronaldo, Ramos, Casillas or any player right now. That's it, Modric is Real Madrid best offensive, midfield and defensive player. However we need a replacement asap! Even if he come back from injury, the guy is 29, turning 30. We have to but a proper midfield who can work offensive and defensive. Lucas silva may be a good replacement after a year of training. But we cant just afford to wait another trophy-less year.

For me, not a single player atm can replace modric, however reyes and pogba are the only two players in my mind that can do at least 70% of the job.

Our next match is against Juve, with pogba. Our only hope is to score 1 goal and park the bus, yes defend. I really cant bare a defeat, winning in any decision is better than losing. However Juve is a team with one of the best defense in the world, as well with pogba and tevez, keeping a cleansheet is tough if we play normal defending, However pogba and tevez are lethal, Ramos and pepe are clumsy and may give a penalty. So i believe we should just go with 4-4-2 Ronaldo and Chica are strikers, bale and james go LM/RM respectively, Kroos and isco take the CM

For God Sake our Fans should stop being so childish and start to actually support our team I dont even know why the fuck do they even whistle at their very own team ffs?!

I don't think Modric will really be replaceable... midfielders like him are extremely difficult to come by. That's why they are so highly regarded. Controlling the entire pitch is ridiculous talent, and I can't really think of any player that can do it as well as Modric and actually wants to join our team. Pogba is an option, definitely. But I believe that replacing Modric when he gets older will be a serious challenge.

I believe we can win, but Juventus are insanely good. Without our full lineup, we will find defeating them very difficult. Our entire season has been destroyed with injuries. Modric, James, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Benzema, Bale, Ronaldo... I'm shocked that Kroos hasn't been injured yet. We would've been winning La Liga if Modric didn't miss 60% of our season and James didn't miss 30% of it.

Bernabeu fans are very demanding... but they should never whistle at their own players. That is very harsh. We love our players, and even if they aren't performing up to standard, we should respect them and support them.

Do you remember when they called him a RM flop?

Kovacic isn't on modric's level but he's young. Barca would do well signing him

@Tacuachillo He was voted flop of the season (don't remember where, probably in Marca)

Just want to say I think Lucas Silva is another Illarramendi, can pass the ball 10m sideways, but that's about it.

Modric is one of the most important players in the squad but what really makes Madrid miss him when he is injured is the fact that the team has no other decent sub to replace him in that position. If Benzema gets injured Hernandez can come to make a decent sub for the time being, same with Ramos and Varane, Marcelo and Coentrao or even James and Isco. I said it before, Madrid's biggest mistake this season was to let Xabi Alonso go.

@Tuanis

We really couldn't do much about it... he said he wanted to leave and that was that. I know Carlito and Perez both tried to convince him to stay, and Alonso admitted that in an interview, but he said he wanted to end his Real Madrid career with a Champions League trophy.

This is absolutely true. I have said so many time again and again... Modric is your utmost important player, not Ronaldo but Modric, he is appreciated but way underrated last year, he is the silent machine that make sure Ronaldo and the rest have what they had...

Player like him is gonna be really hard to find.

Btw, good luck against Juve, you will need it. Real doesnt have to park the bus, even Pogba is back, Real in my eyes is still stronger if they play smartly... Having said that, I believe Juve will defend their heart out.

Well I give up. Our game against juve was good but we weren't clinical in our attack. Bale played better than his average this season, Ronaldo was supporting the midfield but was average, benzema made some amazing skills and cuts betweeen the defence but god damn he should practice on his volley more. Kroos was a beast alongside Casillas. However isco made great dribbles but man shoot and not chip. We don't want fancy goals ffs.

This isn't our year. Reason injuries, and fuck those who disagree. This is our first year facing a bucket of injuries. Plus we barely had any luck with the Attack. If our team were injuryless than we had a better chance in the UCL, Copa and la liga. I feel really bad for modric. Getting injured twice and in the wrong time. Well I won't be back for while, well I'm actually devastated of our year, but hope the best next year. Hala Madrid and Good bye guys :)

@Ray

Completely agree. Injuries ruined our entire season. Unfortunately it was out of our hands from the very beginning, and we just have to suck it up and play for next year. Goodbye mate.
