Lionel Messi has agreed a new contract with Barcelona which will make him the best-paid player in the world.

Lionel Messi has signed his two-year contract extension with Barcelona.

'I'm very happy at Barcelona - I've always said that. It's a fantastic day,' he said on www.fcbarcelona.com.
He added: 'I said it before - in Europe I'd like to end my career at Barca. I wouldn't consider moving to another European club.

According to a report on the website of Barcelona-based newspaperSport, the new contract is worth a record 20million euros per season (£16.3 million), plus further incentives

Masia players arent paid that much in their first contract, 2M for Messi at 21 yo is very cheap, he was already a monster. Neymar is earning 6 times what Messi earned at the same age.
