Memphis Depay: Destroyed by social media for fashion-tribute disaster

The former Manchester United man Memphis Depay collected the Ligue 1 goal of the year award in Paris on Monday night in a stunning “Michael Jackson” looking dress.

Depay won the award for his wonderful effort when he scored from the half way line against Toulouse for Lyon:

However, the win was put down as he turned up in “what has been described by many as a reject from Michael Jackson’s wardrobe.” In addition to him being renowned for his eclectic fashion sense, maybe his dress is meant to be a tribute for the late singer, as Depay is known to be a huge MJ fan.

Well his mentality has always been a question. Against Lorient he said 'fish on the menu'. Then Lyon lost 4 1.

Yeah Lorient Nick name is " les Merlus " ( kind of fish ) so it was a soft banter but his atitude In general even at United won't let him progress that much in his career just like Balo.

It's frustrating to see a player where you knew that if they only got their shit together they would be spectacular. Most of us don't have the ability and/or circumstance to have his opportunities and he's just totally oblivious. It's downright insulting, tbh.

@Sunflash To be fair, getting your shit together is a skill in itself, for some people its easy and quite simple, for other its quite hard or next to impossible. I agree its a shame though and a waste of talent. :(

@Fero Wait, Depay is a MJ fan? Ok, his taste is mostly bad but there might still be hope for him yet. :P
