I wanted to share this video, i just finished watching it and i wanted to share it for those who didnt see the game. Very interesting Midlefield with Alonso-Khedira-Modric and scaring attack Benz-Bale-Ronaldo...
The best 1st half of RM since the start of the season imo.

An interesting change of formation by Ancelotti. He seems to prefer the 4-3-3 over the 4-2-3-1.

The thing about our 4-3-3 is that it gives a devastating attack with Ronaldo, Benzema, and Bale. BUT, neither of these three players want to come back to defend. This leaves our defense pathetically open and weak, especially with attacking minded fullbacks like Marcelo and Carvajal. So Ancelotti decides to throw in three midfielders who are either central or defensive midfielders (Alonso, Modric, Khedira)

What this does is that it removes the #10, but with the attacking flair, a #10 is not needed against inferior teams. BUT, if we were to face someone like, say Barcelona, the absence of a #10 would be drastic. Isco has unfortunately been removed from the starting XI, but I think that if Ancelotti played with a defensive mid/deep-lying playmaker (Alonso), a back-to-back midfielder (Khedira, or Modric [I know he isn't a pure B2B, but he does pretty damn well whenever he steps onto the pitch]), and a creative #10 (Isco). THEN, we will have a great attacking line.

What still concerns me is our defense though. Ramos is great, but too rash. Varane is brilliant. Marcelo is the typical Brazilian defender (great at attacking, and average at defending). Carvajal is still young, but looks to be promising (although he tends to make a few too many mistakes here and there). Casillas and Lopez are amazing. It's just that the FB's have no cover. Bale can come back, and Ronaldo seems to be putting more effort in it too recently, but they have to be more consistent. Marcelo AND Ronaldo can't sprint up. One has to stay back. That is my biggest concern. Other than that, we're one of the top 8 teams in the world.

I have to admit that Modric is an outstanding player, i havent seen much from him when he was at Tottenham and he was not used perfectly by Mourinho so his performances were not very good. And judging the defensive lack that Real Madrid face at the moment, he can be more usefull than Isco who is less defensive...

But Isco is still world class at finishing...
