How much is the deal worth?
180 million I think.
Shit!!
this is the reward of man utd growing their brand over the last 30 years. it is not level playing field but you work and strive to be the best and united have done just this. the plastic clubs on the other hand just got given basically what united have for free and coincidentaalies also ran there clubs awfully before the takeovers. ffp shouldnt restrict what united have done but should restrict what the plastics have done. so ffp has it right imo. asians love arsenal for some reason so arsenal work hard on china/indian market or something instead of complaining. likewise spurs, chelsea etc get to work on gigantic uncaptured market of usa... united should be applauded - liverpool for example should be a monster sized club but they didnt have the work of united when liverpool were successful. liverpool should of years ago been slowly expanding anfield like united did old trafford. and despite huge love of liverpool in china, thailand etc liverpool never exploited this but when united took over success of liverpool, united did exploit there markets. the result? the jugernaught you see today that is mufc
No doubt. Not blaming United at all. They earned it (except The Chevy deal is still very shady). I was just commenting on my personal concern for how competitive the other teams can be given this unparalleled financial strength.
I heard Nike also want to fund the Ronaldo transfer is that possible? I mean this deal is look like the Carlos Tevez move to West Ham United
expect training ground sponsors to become routine now esp in epl big 6 clubs. training sessions and conferences are beamed all over the world....
Yes, you've read correctly... United have agreed to an 8-year sponsorship deal with AON. In return, AON will sponsor their TRAINING kits and will also have naming rights to the Carrington Training Ground.
This, along with Chevrolet's INSANE 7-year deal for their main-kit sponsorship & their upcoming Nike Deal (also said to be very large) will catapult the already head-started United so far ahead of everyone else in England that they will never be reached (ethically or under FFP).
This, while good news for United fans, has been considered by some as the death knoll for future competitiveness of the league. I for one am at a complete loss as to how anyone could ever compete with such financial clout. Arsenal's recent main kit sponsorship deal was considered to be amongst the best in European football and is easily dwarfed by United's.
I fear the league (although it has been to some extent already) will become a full-fledged one horse race. If FFP really works (which I doubt) then even the sugar-daddies can't stop them. As for the Only other traditional Big clubs (Arsenal & Liverpool) that does things the proper way, they won't be sitting at the same table. The likes of Spurs will struggle even more. It's seems (baring some kind of managerial/ownership disaster) that it is as inevitable as death.
