@quikzyyy lol

@sohaib007 this won't happen because city already have agureo, tevez, dzeko and balotelli so van persie would probably be on sub because he is bad in midfield

Dzeko should leave this club where he will once again benched. Money wasted for bench, really shameful.

THT Verdict: City can want Benzema all they like but Real are not looking to offload their main striking option. Furthermore the French international is settled and happy at Madrid and not looking to move as of now. City would be better served aiming their attentions at Gonzalo Higuain as the Argentine looks to move away from the Spanish champions. Deal highly unlikely as it stands.

Man City transfer news, one target wanted elsewhere, one possibly arriving

Manchester City are looking to finalise a deal for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani. Reports have surfaced in Italian newspaper Il Mattino that the Citizens have already placed an offer with the Serie A club, and are desperate to land the Uruguayan international. The 25-year old has been in fine form ever since he surfaced during Uruguay’s surprise World Cup semi-final run and looks set to be rewarded with a lucrative five-year deal at the Etihad. Manager Roberto Mancini would make the funds available from Edin Dzeko’s move to Bayern Munich, which seems to be edging closer with every passing day.

Marca reports that Real Madrid have switched their attention from Manchester City’s Spanish playmaker David Silva to Everton’s combative midfielder Marouane Fellaini. Silva had earlier in the month ruled out a move back home declaring that he was very happy at Manchester City, and it appears Real have decided it would be futile to pursue their interest. Fellaini on the other hand would be an excellent acquisition for Los Galacticos as he would add some much needed muscle in the middle of the park, while also providing a significant aerial threat on set plays.

Manchester City are planning to bring Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge back to the Etihad Stadium, according to Goal.com.Sturridge has just a year left on his Chelsea contract and is considering his future with the European champions. The 22 year old, who missed out on a spot in England's Euro 2012 squad, had a rollercoaster season with the Blues, becoming the club's joint top scorer but failing to earn a regular place in the starting line-up.

Either way, it will be a tough sell to a player in the last years of his prime. Van Persie is eager to finally collect a winner's medal. Convincing him that Arsenal is a better club for him than the reigning Premier League champions will not be easy.

With club after club pulling out of transfer speculation, Manchester City remain one of the few real suitors left for Van Persie's signature. There is palpable enmity between City and Arsenal due to how many former Gunners the Citizens have poached in the last few years. However, ultimately, money talks.
