Manchester City are champion of England!

Somehow, I feel like this thread is gonna be less popular than in previous year but still, bring on the champagne! :D

We officialy got our Premier League champion and what a campaign it was for City. We knew they were gonna be serious contender but City impressed a lot more than expected for me at least and they dominated the league brillantly. No doubt there will be those that will say they only did well because they spent more than most team but this thread isn't for that. This thread is to be good player and to congratulate City and its fan on their success (even if we all know it was coming). So to City and all of its fan, congrats, you are deserved winner of the Premier League! Cheers! :)

They were fantastic and truly deserve it. Next year it will be interesting to see if City retain the title or if any team actually challenges them till the end.

@Raimondo 100% Agreed! We knew they were gonna win it this year but its going to be interesting to see if they maintain that kind of performance next season or if other will manage to overtake them. Still, this season is theirs for sure. :)

next season is the real test, if they can match 07/08 man utd double. even tho the expectation might be too high.

@baldgenius It would be an impressive feat indeed but its going to be very hard indeed.

@iHEART Well, I get we all knew it was coming but still, I think it was the right thing to do to congratulate City on they achievement, however I will never blame United fan to not be thrilled by this or the fact I make a thread to highlight it. Still, since I made a similar thread last year for Chelsea officialy winning the league and also two year ago when Leicester won it in 2016, I felt like I should do one for City as well. I will no doubt do one again next year, when the league winner is officialy decided.

Bald genius when did United win treble in 08? They won 1 treble in their history that was 1999

Well congratz to them. Truely deserved.

Yesterday on BBC Match of the day, they did ask if Man City would be the same as Chelsea (flied in 1 season and completely lost the one after) and they said no ;(. This could be the best club in history of England for the coming 2 years.

I disagree but well, this year they have been one.

@tuan Hey, don't worry too much about it, they are way more beatable than people make them out to be. I say, lets them enjoy this great victory for now and leave next season to after world cup. We'll see then, no use worrying over it right now. ;)

While I knew they would win it with that points gap, I was hoping it was not at the expense of Utd giving it to them. It is well deserved however as they owned the league this season.

@DarthFooty Yeah, that lose against WBA was a real shocker and quite a bit dissapointing. Still way better than them winning it against you guys no doubt though. And indeed, they did deserve it.

@tuan liverpool under klopp already exposed their weaknesses, it's up to the rest of the league on what to do. when inter beats barcelona in ucl, "parking the bus" is a trend and never heard such quotes from kaka, ronaldinho, young cr7 era, maybe you can argue catenaccio. however, not all teams can play the klopp's system. in terms of work rate, nobody gets close to firmino and mane in the league. pressing is a teamwork not just one player and the other kind of follow.

Tuan I don’t want to start anything but who ever said that City is best team in history of the league obviously talks out of his arse.

@Emo & @the_bald: Yep, Liverpool exposes their weakness that's true. But it could be very momentum. Liverpool would beat any team with that kind of performance. But they do have the benefit of being underdog. For EPL you need the whole season... I really dont think they are invincible, but not as crazy as it seems

@Marcus: they were comparing with Chelsea last year who also won the league by far, then had a hard time the next season. Then asked if they were gonna see the same with MC, then one of the pundit said: nope, not for the next 2 years, we are probably seeing the best team in EPL in the history.

I was like WOW, hold your horses...

City were extremely impressive against every lower table opposition and caught off guard big teams with new style. I think next year, things will be much different. EPL clubs quickly adjust to new systems. Just like it happened to Leicester then to Conte's team 16/17 and EPL teams are mostly more dynamic to respond to any new dominance even if they have to spend money. I will be surprised if City dominates the league next year again just as heavily it did this year.

I won't. The amount of money they have to spend + pretty young core of the squad means they are easily set to dominate upcoming years of EPL as long as Guardiola stays.

Fully deserving! I too think they will hold the league.

@quikzy

Just because Arsenal doesn’t believe in spending money that doesn’t mean that other EPL clubs won’t cash out on some new signings to challenge title. Every club will refresh their squad and bring new young or experienced players. Liverpool, United, and Chelsea are all going to be strong next year. Hardest part is to keep the title and especially for the past decade because now EPL has been earning way more than it ever did and talents are brought in from every corner of the world. You know this yourself. Next year is Liverpool’s year ( or any clubs year but City’s ). I will be still surprised if they win it back to back.

considering City's squad depth with any of Liverpool/Chelsea or even United, I don't see either of you guys getting ahead of them in the league. I the cup games and knockout rounds? Surely, but I don't see how you guys can beat them in the long run.
