It's so amazing what they do. Tony Robbins once said, what separates the good from the best is the best never lose their hunger. it keeps burning.

Ronaldo vs Messi will be remembered as the greatest rivalry in the history of sports.

Did you count only the goals they scored or both goals and assists? Because I think it should be both to be fair.

It could be even worse if we count the chances created, Messi has been regularly the one who assist the assister by incredible crosses...
This is why teams should compare themselves to Atletico, Valencia and Sevilla to have a fair judgement on the league.

@Alex

More impressive when you consider that Ronaldo/Messi are involved in 75% of their team's goals indirectly. Ronaldo has the 5th highest key-passes per game stat, and Messi has the 3rd highest.

Actually, it's impressive for both Real Madrid and Barcelona. They are 5th and 6th in LaLiga with only playing 10 men for the whole season.

@Emre

It would be much lower because they have even bigger impact on the team. Ronaldo drags away defenders frequently, and Messi throws in a lot of crosses or switches the play for which they don't receive credit. RM and FCB would be below 10th if they didn't play with Messi/Ronaldo all season and played with 10 men.

@Dynastian98 True. But, I don't think they'd finish the league below 10th. The replacements and the tactics were gonna be considered without Messi and Ronaldo. And both teams still have the quality and value for ending up higher than 10th . Not top5 of course. Maybe 8th or 9th.

Yeah, but don't forget all the chances which are on their shoulders. I'm not taking anything away from them, but other player would have stepped up the game, if they were missing.

Agree with Emre. I can still see Barca winning the league without Messi. Yes he's their most important player, but they'll adapt, if they didn't have him, by signing another forward and using different tactics.

Take a look at Suarez's case for Liverpool, or Modric for Real... When they are not there, the impact on small games is not big, but on big games are gonna be SO enormous.

Without Ronaldo and Messi, Atletico, Sevilla and Valencia would be title contenders, and would get same Barça/Real chances to win the trophy, Barça/Real would drop more points specially against 3rd-10th and the league would be very very close...
But im gonna enjoy Messi era until its end and i think Madrid fans would want the same until the end of Ronaldo era.
