Lukaku to remain with Chelsea this season

"I always said my ambition was to play for Chelsea, and now I will go back to Stamford Bridge and try and play even more games than I did at West Brom. If I can score a few early on, it can turn into a really good season for me.

I have had a good conversation with Jose Mourinho, and I know it's up to me to show I'm worth a place. It is the World Cup next year, and I need to be playing. But if I don't get in the Chelsea team often enough, then I won't deserve to be in the national squad.

I am not afraid of that. I am determined to succeed with Chelsea next season. I want to prove myself. People will compare me with Didier Drogba, and he was always my hero. But I am my own man, and I want to be known for what I do."

This new Chelsea is getting better and better :D

The fans always will expect him to be as good as when we signed Drogba. I hope he can prove himself under Mourinho. Yet all the signs and rumors says that we will be playing with 2 or 3 strikers. Torres might leave. So we will have Lukaku - Ba - Cavani. The best scenario will be if we include Torres in Cavani's deal. yet Mourinho wants Hulk too. so I'm not sure yet how things will turn around for Lukaku. as we all know Mourinho every player will have to prove himself on the pitch and work very hard to start a match. Remember Shevchenko ?

@Alex: You're making this too complicated and confusing. As most of the stuff you stated will not happen if they stay the way they are.

1)Torres will not leave for ANY club. No one will be able to pay his extremely high wages and he wont want to lower his salary.

2)Hulk's buyout clause is too much for Chelsea to try to even bother with. He has had a below average season and wasting 40 million on him is not something Emenalo or Mourinho want. Plus, KdB is most likely coming back as it seems Mourinho has been watching him a lot recently and is interested in him.

3)Napoli's demands for Cavani is too high. 63 million!? I can see why their negotiations with City stalled. We're not going to cash in 63 million for a player like Cavani just because we're Chelsea.

4)Shevchenko was Roman's signing, not Mourinho's.
