Ok mate now i see why you're so obsessed with Lukaku :)) Great post btw! :)
Lukaku's recent success at West Brom only makes it more and more obvious that Torres isn't going to be a Chelsea player for too much longer. If Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge, you can expect him to try and turn Lukaku into the next Drogba.
He has power. He is fast. He is European Drogba.
At the age of 19, Lukaku is like a colossal titan. 6"3 tall and 101 kg, Lukaku has already proven at such as a young age that he can take out a defender with his strength and pace. Born in Antwerp , Lukaku's physical skills meant that he was scouted at such as young age. He joined his local team at 5 and moved into the Belgian Pro League with Lierse SK four years later. At the age of 13, Anderlecht signed him up.
It didn't take too much time for him to make his first team debut. By the age of 16, Lukaku made his debut in 2009 as a substitute. By then his career really kicked off. He scored 18 goals and made 7 assists that season. In the 2010-2011 season, he scored 20 goals. He scouted by many top class teams but thankfully Chelsea snapped him up. Chelsea would sign Lukaku for 12 million plus 6 million in additional costs. That was obviously such a big fee for a young player who hasn't really proven himself in the big stage. He sadly wouldn't live up to the hype in his first season.
Lukaku debuted in a 3-1 win against Norwich. He failed to really make an impact and wasn't outstanding. Later on, Lukaku would be left out of the CL squad. He wasn't going to get the same playing time as in Anderlecht because of the likes of Drogba, Anelka and Torres (I still believe he would have easily done better than Torres that season if given the chance). Lukaku needed a loan to a lower level club to really develop in to a world class striker.
In summer 2012, Lukaku signed for West Bromich Albion on a full-season loan. Lukaku started the season off as a subbed in player vs Liverpool. He immediatly made an impact in a 3-0 win for West Brom scoring a header and terrorizing the defense.
He first was used as a sub in the beginning of the season, but after impressing on multiple occasions, Lukaku began to start for West Brom. He immediately made an impact then, saving the team in multiple times and improving his overall skill at the same time. Lukaku until now, is still terrorizing defenses and improving his skills overall. Statistics show how great he is at such as a young age and how he can really turn a horrible pass in to something special by using his strength and pace.
Statistics:
Top goalscorers under the age of 20:
Robbie Fowler (Liverpool): 25 goals
Robbie Keane (Coventry): 12 goals
Already his second season, Lukaku has surpassed Wayne Rooney and is near Owen and Anelka's record.
Minutes per goal:
Lukaku scores a goal every 106 minutes according to transfermarkt.co.uk RVP scores ever 105 minutes, Dzeko every 106 and Suarez every 114. It's simply amazing how at such a young age, Lukaku has made a huge impact and can be compared to world class players in some aspects already.
