Well there goes our hopes for winning the CL and La Liga. He had a collision during the Malaga match and is now out again. Bale was also injured and had to be withdrawn in the 2nd minute, but no updates have been made for his injury by the Real staff.

I think your hopes of winning La Liga ended with Barcelona defeat.

Very sad for him and Real. I will hope for them to play at least for UCL semis.

Without Modric Real are in trouble against Atletico. Its a shame when you spend more than half the season out injured.

I just cant. I'm sorry, but injuries have fucked up our season. Madrid will go trophyless this season all because of injuries. It's incredible the horrible timing they have, and players that get them. I fucking hate life right now.

Barca will win the treble for sure. As for Modric's injury, I think Ancelotti should've taken more care and he is therefore to blame.

@Eden

Yes, blame Ancelotti for a collision between Modric and another player. Absolutely. 100% Ancelotti's fault.

He came back from injury and Ancelotti was pushing him instead of slowly getting him back into rhythm. He was playing full 90s as soon as he returned. I'm just saying that maybe he wouldn't face another lengthy period on the sidelines if he wasn't rushed in. Yes it's not Ancelotti's fault that he collided with another player, but he clearly wasn't 100% and if he was the consequences would be much better for Real.

SAd news, really sad news. I have learned to enjoy this guy so much and as a natural fans, this 2nd leg against Atletico would be much unfair.

Modric is in my opinion the most important and influential player of Real, this smart touches, acceleration confuses all others mid of their opponents. He is as important (or more) as Ronaldo, without Modric, I think Ronaldo would be way way less dangerous...

I was a big fan of him and still regret to this day that he chose Real over Manchester United.

Big blow for Modric, trained hard to come back and help his teammates, best luck for him to recover in time for the next fixtures...

To be honest i dont know why Ancelotti did let him play. We have so many other great midfielders let them play instead of Modric. If a player comes back after a long injury you cant just place him in the starting 11 and let him play for 90 minutes because thats a big risk. Anyways i dont think we will go trophyless this season. We still have great players who can replace the others and we are still in the race for La Liga, ONLY 2 F#CKING POINTS not more. RELAX! Y VAMOS MI MADRID!

We had to make him play. Malaga is a team that tied Barcelona 0-0 at home, beat them 1-0 in the Camp Nou, and drew Atletico in the Calderon. It was a necessity to field our strongest lineup.

CONFIRMED:: Real will face Atletico without both Modric and Bale. The Madrid winger is ruled out for three weeks with a calf injury.

Jesus, if we win this will be a miracle. Ronaldo is going to be shut down by 5-men teams, and it's going to be ridiculously tight of a game.

@Dyn: I dont think it would be a miracle, you guys still have an AMAZING squad and on paper you can still trash our ass (MU's current squad) anytime. So...

But for sure, your whole team have to reunited play as solid as possible, sometimes being underdog is even better... only that Ronaldo might have less chance to shine though, but if he play like last game, Atletico would still have a big problem as much as you do.

without modric and bale plus suspended Marcelo. BIG problem. Cause kroos, khedira and isco mix were crushed by atm midfield the other day ... will james make difference ? very hard but not impossible.

Benzema and Marcelo are out as well, this is going to be very, very hard for Real. What is the line-up going to look like now..?

Casillas
Carvajal - Varane - Ramos - Coentrao
James - Kroos - Isco
Jese - Chicharito - Ronaldo

Maybe something like this, but it seems way too attacking. What's the matter with Khedira, why isn't he playing? Ancelotti might shift Pepe into DM, too, and play Isco as RW.

^ I heard that Ancelotti may play full offensive with only 3 center-backs.
