That, my freinds, is business.
Clearly you don't follow up on Chelsea news so I'll correct you.
1) We paid 24 million euros plus Matic for Luiz
2) We never bid 40 million euros for Matic. It's just some bullshit rumor.
Boss Jose Mourinho has convinced owner Roman Abramovich that the Serbian playmaker is key to his plans.
And,
like Mourinho, Matic, 20, will be making a return to Stamford Bridge,
having first signed for the club from Slovak side Kosice four years ago.
In
January 2011, Matic was transferred to Benfica along with £21m so
Chelsea could land Brazilian centre-back David Luiz. Matic starred for
Benfica last season and now looks to be on his way back to London.
But Benfica, who lost 2-1 to Chelsea in the Europa League final last month, are digging their heels in and demanding a massive fee.
Luiz, currently in Brazil for the Confederations Cup, last night
confessed that he is now interested in Paris St-Germain. The unsettled
defender has been touted as a possible target for Barcelona.
The Brazil star will now meet Mourinho after the Confederations Cup to discuss his future.
But
he has admitted that he is intrigued by the way Qatari-backed PSG are
building a star-studded squad including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel
Lavezzi and Lucas Moura.
Luiz has been speaking with Moura, along
with other Paris-based Brazilians Thiago Motta and Thiago Silva, about
the French club’s plans.
“I talk about PSG and their project with my Brazil team-mates,” said Luiz, 26.
“The club has done a good job in Ligue 1 and they have some very good players, such as Lucas Moura, Thiago Motta, Maxwell and Thiago Silva.
“And that is just the Brazilians. There are more besides.”
Luiz was one of the Chelsea’s best performers in the second half of last season, especially when employed in midfield.
But it remains to be seen what role, if any, Mourinho has in store for him next season.
These comments don't prove anything about going for Matic. They also aren't a sign Luiz is leaving.

Was not a serious post, wanted just to point that players only need 2 years in portugal to see their value grown at Benfica and Porto, if Matic doesn't go to Chelsea no pb what im pointing here is he worth at least 35M now. I understand Vendetta from your comments that you' re agaisnt joining Matic to Chelsea, why ? He's world class.
You are right Matic worth 6M at that time, so the transfer was 24M+Matic, and yes i folow more la liga teams than EPL ones. No intentions while posting that post take it easy :)
Okay man, I thought you were taking a dig at Chelsea but I guess that's not the case. No worries then :). To answer your question though, 40 million euros for a guy who's only began to shine in his second season is a risky buy. I'd rather go for De Rossi, Fellaini or Kondogbia.
Without doubt, the best player for Benfica this season. After Garcia and Witsel were sold, nobody thought the space would be filled already, but Matic did it with flying colors. No wonder Chelsea want him given his performance against them. Absolutely world class player, and a great deal for Benfica back in 2011.
The last years, tiki_taka, Benfica have indeed produced some fantastic players, but I wouldn't be worried if they reached Porto's level at taking profit from players (something they arguably have the last years). It just gives the whole league a better reputation and strength. :)
Benfica are magicians lol :
Remember 2011 : Chelsea paied 30 Meuros + Matic for David Luiz.
2013 : Chelsea (removed) +30M for Matic :) .
Those portugueses are tranfers Masters :). don't worry Golden Porto are at the same level if not better...
