If Messi had equal amount of criticism and mockery from fans like Ronaldo then he would probably retired from football all together .. Very weak move from supposedly the greatest player of all time

bbc reports Messi is retiring

Ridiculous how my comment was removed when I didn't even say anything remotely offensive.

Im sorry. I know some comments weren't offensive or anything but the amount of off-topic replies and comments was ridiculous. I cant understand how people cant manage to stay on topic, it isn't that hard. Ronaldo is a word that shouldn't be seen in a thread like this yet the same people are always turning this discussions into a debate that has nothing to do with the actual topic.

I understand your point but from Messi's perspective I also understand him. When Maradona ( God in Argentina ) told him ' win the copa or don't come home ' related in all Argentinian medias, and his related discussion with Pele under the spotlight about him, when you spend whole season playing in 6 competitions and get no break and still find a way to stay fit for June ( Aguero for instance has never been able to ). When his compatriots blame you for quiting home at 13 and never played for a domestic club. When the most loved player in Argentina ( Carlos Tevez ) is not playing. When you face the media right after the defeat, he took all the blame and took a decision. He lost 3 consecutive finals, he has never experienced it before, as a captain he is obliged to give a post game interview, maybe experiencing an Argentina without Messi would show the difference or maybe Dybala and the new gems would give a new dynamic, he looked devastated after the final and he told it to media live....

It may change since I don't think he will retire, when I saw the interview it was few minutes after the game, he may come back if he is needed or called back for South America WC qualifiers. I think time will change his mind, seing his teammates going in the International break like Suarez I think he will come back on his decision, but if he doesn't it's understandable, being having best created chances In the tournment, best scorer and assister 5 games 5 goals 5 assists being a midlefielder and get that hate from his country. To Loose 3 finals, you should reach 3 finals, what Argentina failed to do since 1993...

@Tiki I think you are right, his reaction come from the fact he didn't have time to come back from the pain of the loss. Also, I heard even his wife want him to remain with his national team. For me, their is no doubt he will go back to play in the WC 2018 in Russia.

@Tuanis

A debate is a debate. Get f.cking used to it. It's ridiculous that you just remove regular comments without any prior warning. You literally just removed the comments you didn't find agreeable.

Your arguments for wanting your comment to remain in this thread is laughable. It has nothing to do with the thread and users have gotten used to derail topics as much as they want to. It is one of the basic rules in the forum, if you or anyone don't like it then you can always create a thread to debate pointless stuff like that. I don't know why you think I removed only certain comments, the truth is I removed everything regarding Ronaldo-Messi comparison that had nothing to do with the original topic. You made some decent comments in the thread but if I was removing everything non-related It had to be removed as well.

@Tuanis, all my respect to you, but I agree with dyna and chelsea8. nowadays, Messi and Ronaldo are similar, you mention messi in anything from football to advertisement, Ronaldo's name will be mentioned and vice versa. So we should get used to it., even though its completely pointless, it has already been a common thing mentioning one of them alongside the other.

@tuanis

Yeah you are right it should be about Messi mostly but you can't mention Messi and not to mention Ronaldo few times . Two players go hand to hand once you mention one .. Reason why because they are both massive players one of the greatest players of all time , and their pressure and behavior much more unique than other players. It would be insult to back an argument by saying well look at how Ibrahimovic cops with pressure and looses in national team .. not the same completely .. complete different kind of pressure and magnitude of failure
