555,000+ fans voted, and Toni Kroos was nominated the winner by winning 40.6% of votes.

2nd place was Miroslav Klose with 38.7% of votes, and Manuel Neuer came 3rd with 6.6% votes.

Mesut Ozil had won the award the last three years in a row (2011, 2012, 2013).

I don't know, but 2013 votes were as follows: Ozil (30%), Lahm (17%), and Muller (13%).

However, Klose came in 2nd in 2012 with 13.89% of votes. Ozil had 22.9% and Reus had 13.1% that year.

Kroos is who I would've voted for so I'm glad he won. I didn't like him before but he changed my opinion completely this year.

Aha, thanks. I was thinking that Klose would be the winner of the award for purely sentimental reasons (being the record WC goal scorer, retiring from the NT), but 38.7% is a very good result, if the 2013 results for Klose were negligible.
