One of the best football-related autobiographies I've ever read. Actually, one of the best autobiographies I've ever read. I suggest anyone who can find it near them in a bookstore (or order it) should buy it immediately. It's a great read. I'll put some quotes from the book here that I think many will find interesting.

On the first page:

I already got the impression that Barcelona was little like school, or some sort of institution. The players were cool ... But to be honest, none of the lads acted like superstars. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, the whole gang - they were like school boys. The best footballers in the world stood there with their heads bowed ... It was ridiculous.

... ever since my days at Malmo FF I've had the same philosophy: I do things my way. I don't give a damn what people think ... But now, I said what I thought people wanted me to say. It was completely messed up .... Zlatan was no longer Zlatan.

... But then Messi started saying things ... Within the team, the plays centers around him, which is entirely natural - he's brilliant. But now I was there and I was scoring more goals than him. He went up to Guardiola and told him "I don't want to be on the right wing anymore. I want to play in the center," ... I was the striker but Guardiola didn't give a damn about that. He changed the tactical formation ... and I ended up in the shadows.

On the differences between Mourinho and Guardiola from Ibra's perspective:

If Mourinho lights up a room, Guardiola draws the curtains.

When Zlatan got engaged with a woman quickly after he met her (broke up right after the engagement):

... What did she get for an engagement present?” “Whaddaya mean, present? She got Zlatan.

When he was trying to move clubs and a certain English club wanted him:

... “What the fuck! Southampton! Is that my level?”

More on Guardiola (his parts on Barcelona are from the first chapter then continues in the last chapters of the book):

... Then Guardiola started his philosopher thing. I was barely listening. Why would I? It was advanced bullshit about blood, sweat and tears, that kind of stuff ...

... I would walk into a room; he would leave. He would greet everyone by saying hello, but would ignore me. I had done a lot to adapt – the Barca players were like schoolboys, following the coach blindly, whereas I was used to asking ‘why should we ...

... He was staring at me and I lost it. I thought ‘there is my enemy, scratching his bald head!’. I yelled to him: ‘You have no balls!’ and probably worse things than that ...

I added: ‘You are shitting yourself because of Jose Mourinho. You can go to hell!’. I was completely mad. I threw a box full of training gear across the room, it crashed to the floor and Pep said nothing, just put stuff back in the box. I’m not violent, but if I were Guardiola I would have been frightened ...

Damn, you gonna quote the whole book ?? ... Zlatan sounds like a huge scumbag in those quotes.

What I like about his arrogance is that it has paid off every single time. Like Mourinho. Arrogance with no end product is just plain stupidity.

You should read it as well. There's a good 4-7 chapters about Inter. Moratti, Mourinho, Materazzi, the Inter ultras, etc. Good stuff and bad stuff.

He sounds like a Swedish Joey Barton.. haha. The guy still have his ghetto bravado tough guy act.. At least he's not all talk.. (Most of the time..) But sometimes he can really be up his own ass..
Chapters on Inter huh? Who would have expected that.. Not like he spent 3 seasons with the Nerazurri and winning 3 Seria A titles.. Why would he put that in his book?? :P
I've been meaning to read his book to be honest.. Will do soon enough. Get in to the mind of Zlatan.. That should be fun..

Well he is actually like Joey Barton in a lot of things (including being trained in martial arts). Except much better. As for his ghetto act, he was actually raised in a pretty poor and dire situation where he was mocked by his family, teachers, and youth players (and their uptight parents).

By the way, what are your thoughts on Ibra moving to AC Milan later? He already stated how much the Inter Ultras were willing to show that his betrayal was a crime to them, but was it really that bad? He was a big help in getting you 3 Serie A titles after a long drought.

You can take the Zlatan out the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of Zlatan. It's a big part of his personality.

My thoughts on him moving to Milan? Well the guy signed for Inter after Juve got relegated to Serie B.. If that shows you where his loyalties are. Of all teams he chose Inter.. Talk about a slap to the face of Juve.. Not that I'm complaining. The guy is a mercenary..
To be honest it didn't bother me too much.. What a triangle though.. Juve - Inter - Milan.. Like he wanted to be a UN worker in a War zone.. Oh well, Pirlo did the same..
At least he didn't go straight to Milan from Inter.. Must admit it was strange seeing him in red.. Same for Balotelli.. that said.. it didn't really bother me too much either. Balo was just one big headache.. Glad we got 25 mil for the guy..
Zlatan was great in the league but fratrating as usual in CL.. Expected a lot more from him.. never delivered.

^Yeah, in the book he describes how he was always relied on in the Serie A but could not deliver in the CL for Inter. Like vs ManUtd.

There is this really good part on his time with Inter on how he was trying to be the topscorer in the Serie A but was tied with Milito and Di Vaio in the last day and then did this to become the topscorer for that season.

^ Yeah, he had a lot of memorable moments in the league.. wish he could have done the same in CL.. Pretty much every club he played for fans can say the same.. A pity last season he got injured after he played so well. I was hoping he would finally secure that elusive title. Still, if he doesn't manage to get it.. he certainly has had a very successful career.
Still only 32. He still has time.

If he'd take a pay-cut I'd have him at Spurs for a couple of years of short-term success, while we look for a younger, long-term option.

File this under Never Going To Happen, but, I can daydream... ;) After all, once upon a time we were a home for aging stars like Klinnsman, Van der Vaart and Edgar Davids, etc, and they worked out quite well for us.

Spurs could do with a player like him to stir the pot. He'd really get your cross town rivals shaking in their boots. A league title is guaranteed, that goes without saying.. Though I wonder if he may prefer to dabble in the Bundesliga with BVB.. Kloop is an admirer. Nah, they couldn't afford him.. Spurs should sell Eriksen to Inter to raise funds for this most rewarding signing. ;) PL is on Ibrah's to do list. Just leave the question if he prefers Paris to London. Zlatan is a nomad at heart. Like some of shark he has to keep moving to stay alive. haha..

Actually, imagine him at United, alongside RVP and Rooney...

United could afford it, too.
