Boy, Carvalho in his prime would steamroll both Pepe and Ramos. From your sentence, you judge him from his time in RM, when he got old and injury prone. You do know he was with Chelsea before that? And before that he was with Mourinho in Porto? Probably not.

@rama The source link is mentioned on the post :) But i think it's the same. as for me I would say Ramos is better than Carvalho But don't forget that Carvalho is Portuguese and Mourinho would pick him anytime. Notice that Carvalho played in 3 clubs that Mourinho managed Porto, Chelsea & Real Madrid. 

I think This starting XI selection is merely because Mourinho have a very good relationship with those players.
