Big fan of John Oliver. Thought this was brilliant and just 3 days after this Blatter announced he'd leave - in silly sense I'd like to believe this had just even a tiny impact ;-D

Nonetheless.

If you missed the 1st part from last June, then here:

John Oliver is a legend. It's nice that he works under HBO and therefore doesn't have to be politically correct because they have no advertisers.

Great job, now he and the FBI should do the same job on US lobbies and multinational rulling the country and indirectly the world with the same methods thats Blatter or Fifa.

Its good to arrest bastards but all of them should be arrested not only those who gave World cup to the wrong country.
If USA got their WC would they make usual Fifa methods under the spotlight ? I doubt so.( it was always working like this, politics included in the whole world )
Anyway, happy that a little minority paid, and waiting for more actions like this not only when it doesnt suit the US big firms interests.

But again.. Who wants to go to USA to watch football? It's not safe there at all. They have made many enemies already. And let alone that it's so far on the map, same as Brazil though but still it's far.

@tiki-taka as an American/Canadian, it is true. The USA got involved when FIFA corruption affected US interests, no one denies that. But FIFA corruption was affecting all of Europe and South America too, for decades and no law enforcement agency came after them. And unless they do now, it is unlikely any lasting change to FIFA will occur. The US won't constantly monitor FIFA, because they don't care enough. Europe has to get its act together.

@alex hmm. Don't get your point of being safe to watch football in USA? Obviously in Compton or Bronx, it isn't but I'm pretty sure in right places it's just as safe as it is in Europe. Or what was your point?

@decentK I meant that they always have something going on there with terrorists from all over the world and they have the highest criminal record since everyone have a permission to practice GTA in real life and own a weapon. That's not a safe place to me.

I don't get Wolfie, rko out of nowhere.

^Nop ;--p

@alex yes got your point now. About gunlaws, I think New York & California have pretty strict laws. Though they're really far from each other. I'd just put it to California area, but on the other hand they don't have big enough stadiums. You'd not want to put any games to Texas area etc of whom gun laws are totally f*cked. I think the terrorism side is getting better, but who knows.

I have never not felt safe at a sporting event anywhere in America, and I've been to many, including several different sports. I don't think there has ever been a major criminal issue during a sports game in the last century for ANY major league sport here. That's as good a record as you can have.

Riots, gas, firearms, fighting, all happens more regularly in Canada, land of the pacifists, where I live now, over hockey, than anything in America.

EDIT: @decentK there are MASSIVE stadiums all over America, and California is no exception. The Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California is in the top twenty largest stadiums in the world, (I know because every New Year's Day I hear about it...sheesh).

^Ah SunFlash, I forgot that you could play (soccer) in football field too. I obviously meant exact soccer stadiums, like LA Galaxy's, San Jose Earthquakes, or Los Angeles FC's future stadium are too small imo. But ye that would be fine then :p
