If I am to say what type of player is the perfect role model I would say Lampard (of course I am saying that mainly because I'm a Chelsea fan). Klose would also be another fantastic example as the perfect role model. Kaka too. These are the players everyone should be like. Both brilliant on AND off the pitch.

At the end of the day, it's not anyone's business to begin with. Nobody here knows anything about it, and it might be that Giggs' brother is a total knob. After all, an affair for 8 years? That's not a bit of sex on the side. There's something more there.

And either way? Who cares, at the end of the day?

The more time we spend worrying about what other people's love-lives are like, the more we justify stupid tabloid journalism and the paparazzi.

Twat or not, nobody decides to have an affair with a brother's wife for 8 years. God damn, if Giggs really wanted to be with his bro's wife he should have announced it MUCH earlier to his brother. Having an affair for 8 years is just one side of how horrible it is; keeping it a secret for 8 years from his brother just makes it all the worse.

A lot of people care about what happens in a footballers personal life. These are people who are looked up to by many children around the world and they go off fucking up their brother's/best friend's life. This also damages the reputation of the club they're in and invites the media to chase them down while bringing in friends of the person who did wrong in to it. This sort of thing is actually something I want the media to follow.

But yeah, Barton is a twat. But I personally believe Giggs is as much as a twat to do that to his brother for 8 years.

Am I the only one who thinks that just because Giggs had an affair with his wife, that doesn't really have a bad influence on kids. I've looked up to this man along with other United legends but it's not like I was like "Giggs had an affair with his brother for 8 years?. I'll go on do that.". I think we're overdoing the "looking up to football players" thing a bit out of proportions. Kids don't do exactly what the people they look up to do, do. Just my opinion.

Depends on where you're from. American teens tend to do the ridiculous more often than not, so it's actually natural for kids to look up to a famous person who has done atrocious things in life and perform those same acts. Maybe where you live is slightly different, but I can tell you firsthand that American teens have an IQ of below 70 when it comes to common sense.

I've went to an American public school and International schools and trust me. Kids are not that stupid. I mean yes. There are some really stupid kids that do really stupid stuff but I can assure you. Unless this kid has some weird relations with his brother or family in general, they won't be driven to bang their brother's wife. Just no.

It's like when people claim that Miley Cyrus is a bad influence, or that video games make children violent.

Kids are not that stupid. No-one is looking at Ryan Giggs and thinking: "oh, I want to do that too!"

Generally these are just excuses and scapegoats that bad parents make when their kids turn out to have been badly raised. I don't care a jot what Giggs' personal life is like, and if someone else does, then so be it, but I suspect their reasons are far more rooted in a love of gossip than any actual moral righteousness.

I agree with Vendetta. No matter what any of you say, what Giggs has done is the lowest and worst of any footballer you can name. Worse than Barton, Maradonna, Ribery, etc. Sure Barton is a cunt, but it takes one to know one and I'm not at all surprised that it is Barton calling out Giggs. If I was his brother and he did that to me then I would break Giggs' legs so that he can never play football again. On the pitch he is a legend, off the pitch he is scum.
